Back To Your Love
JEN: “I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to get a place together.”
Dawson was walking across campus when he heard someone call his name.
JACK: “Hey Dawson, How’s it going??”
Scene: - Andie, Jen and Joey are unpacking their stuff when the door goes. They all run to answer it but Jen wins and finds that their first guest is Jack.
JEN: “Hi Jack, welcome to our humble abode.”
Scene: - The student union.
JOEY: “Why did I let you talk me into this Pacey? Why did I let him talk me into this? Anybody?”
Scene: - The student union.
. . .You let me think that i don’t have a chance (none at all)
if you love me let me know
i wanna give you what you need
ANDIE: “Pacey did that notice say that you had to be able to sing??”
As Joey sat there waiting on her turn, she wondered if he realised why she had picked this song. She knew no one else did, not even Andie.
if you love me let me know
Even though the guy was rubbish he still go a very enthusiastic round of applause.
i shouldn’t be alone with you tonight
if only for tonight
you’re on my mind all of the time
if only for tonight
why i don’t know, i’m in too deep
As Joey’s song was nearing the end, someone in the audience was paying particular attention to what she was singing. The song was very appropriate to their relationship. He knew almost as soon as she started that she was singing to him. Whenever she looked directly at him it sent shivers up his back. If only she knew.
if only for tonight
Joey was quite pleased with her performance and apparently so were the audience, as she got a good round of applause. The more she thought about New York the more she wanted to go. She thought to herself ‘it’s in fate’s hands now, if I’m meant to be in New York then it will happen’. She went and sat down with her friends. They all thought that she was good, the best so far, but it wasn’t up to them.
PACEY: “So was it as nerve wracking as the beauty pageant??”
The final song was a duet (both girls), and they were singing ‘One for sorrow - Steps’. Once the song was finished the presenter type guy announced that the judges would be taking 30 minutes to decide the winner.
Scene: - Everyone is back at the table awaiting the results.
PRESENTER TYPE GUY: “Hey everyone, the judges have reached there decision. In third place we have Kim and Jacqui who gave us ‘one for sorrow’, you two have just won a case of beer. The runner up prize is two tickets for the next Boston Celtics game and this prize goes to Shaun who gave us a little ‘November Rain’ and the winner who wins the prize that everyone wanted and wasn’t a stranger but was Joey. Your tickets will be delivered to you tomorrow.”
Scene: - After the competition. Everyone is at Andie, Jen and Joey’s apartment having coffee.
They are discussing how their courses are going, how they can’t wait to go to New York, talking about Dawson’s new script and everyone makes fun of Dawson. As Andie goes to make coffee everyone starts to talk about previous Dawson movies.
Scene : - Cut to Pacey and Andie in the kitchen.
I’m falling but I can’t stop - can’t stop
ANDIE: “I know I said that it was none of my business, but when are you planning on telling J . . .”
feels like I’m falling - falling
You’re on my mind all the time morning, noon and night
JOEY (walking into the kitchen): ”Hey you two, are we getting coffee this year??”
any comments? like? dislike? got a fave part or line? I wanna know. feedback can be sent to Karen

SCENE: - Andie, Jen and Joey’s apartment
JOEY: “It certainly beats having to share a room with Dawson for a semester.”
ANDIE: “How did that happen exactly, you never told me the story.”
JOEY: “Well to cut a long story short, they thought that I was a boy.”
JEN (stunned): “You mean you two were sharing a room unsupervised?”
Before Joey has the chance to reply Andie cuts in.
ANDIE: “What’s the big deal Jen, it’s not like they were strangers and anyway it certainly wouldn’t have been the first time they’d slept in the same room. I mean they’ve shared the same bed on many occasions.”
JEN: “Ah, but things have changed!?”
JOEY (laughing): “Do you want Dawson for yourself and think that I am a threat or something Jen??”
JEN: “Ha Ha, very funny. So what did you two get up to?? ”
JOEY: “Nothing much, just the usual.”
Andie and Jen look at each other and said at the same time “Movie night!”
JOEY: “Hey, if you are going to mock me and Dawson then I’m moving out!”
ANDIE (laughing): “Oh I don’t know whether to say then you won’t need to pack or I’m sure Dawson could squeeze you in somewhere!!”
Joey just scowled as Jen and Andie laugh.
DAWSON: “Actually not to bad. I’m just on my way back to the apartment to work on an assignment or maybe I’ll start a new script. I have a few new ideas floating around my head.”
JACK: “And what are you thinking. Action, thriller, comedy . . .”
DAWSON: “Well I’m thinking comedy, maybe even a romantic comedy.”
JACK: “Great.”
DAWSON: “Have you got lectures now??”
JACK: “No, I’m going to see how the three musketeers are settling in.”
DAWSON: “That’s right, today was the big move. Do you think that they will have killed each other yet??”
JACK: “I think if they’ve killed anyone then it would probably be Andie.”
DAWSON: “Why??”
JACK: “’Cause if I know Andie, and I do, she’ll be driving them batty, dishing out instructions. She probably even has some sort of schedule worked out.”
DAWSON: “I’m gonna tell her you said that.”
JACK: “She may be my little sister but she would kill me if you told her what I just said.”
DAWSON: “I know, that would be fun to watch. We could even sell tickets for that show. Listen, I’d love to stay and discuss your impending death some more but I’d better go and get this assignment started. Tell the Capeside three that I’ll stop by later.”
JACK: “I will, are you still on for tonight??”
DAWSON: “I think so.”
JACK: “When I spoke to Andie last night she said we were all to go over for coffee after the student union. ”
DAWSON: “Well find out what time we are meeting at and let me know. See you later Jack.”
JACK: “Later Dawson.”
JACK: “Hey, it’s the Capeside three. How’s it going??”
ANDIE: “Well Joey and I have decided to evict Jen??”
JEN: “Huh, on what grounds??”
JOEY: “You beat us to the door!”
JEN: “Okay, later.”
JACK: “Anyway I come bearing gifts.”
ANDIE: “Ahh, how sweet brother dearest.”
JACK: “Actually, Jen told me that if I didn’t bring any food that you would probably all starve to death and then New York wouldn’t be possible.”
ANDIE: “Jen!!”
JEN: ”Yeah.”
JOEY: “When can you move back in??”
JEN: “Is never soon enough??”
ANDIE: “That’ll do.”
PACEY: “Ah Joey, you just can’t resist carrying out any ideas or instructions that I give you.”
JOEY: “Could someone smack him for me?? ‘Coz if I hit him once then I might get carried away and just kill him whilst I’m at it.”
DAWSON: “You wouldn’t be nervous by any chance, would you Joey??”
JOEY: ”Whatever gave you that idea??”
ANDIE: “Pacey, Dawson I may be forced to carry out the murders myself if you two don’t leave the lovely Miss Potter alone.”
JOEY: “Thank you Andie.”
JACK: “Hey, were did Jen go??”
DAWSON: “She’s gone to find some sort of list that will let us know when the ‘lovely Miss Potter’ will be singing?”
JOEY: “Leery, you’re one more comment away from death.”
DAWSON: “You really are nervous aren’t you??” (Joey just looks at him.) “Jo I’m really sorry.”
JEN: “Hey Joey, what do you want first, the good or the bad news??”
PACEY: “I say give her the bad news first, at least then you can console her with whatever good news you have.”
JOEY: “What is it Jen??”
JEN: “okay, the bad news is that out of eighteen people you are tenth.”
JOEY: “Wow, if that’s the bad news I’m not sure that I’ll be able to handle the good news.”
JACK: “Which is??”
JEN: “At least you’re not last.”
DAWSON: “Well she does have a point there.”
JOEY: “Thanks Jen, that was actually good news.”
PACEY: “So Joey, are you planning on telling us what you are going to sing tonight??”
DAWSON: “Don’t even go there Pacey, I think I hold the world record on that question.”
ANDIE: “Just how many times has he asked you that??”
JOEY: “Thirty-two times.”
DAWSON: “And counting. Joey what are you going to sing tonight??”
JOEY: “Andie??”
ANDIE: “Yeah”
JOEY: “That would be thirty-three.”
DAWSON: “Okay I’m not going to ask again.”
JOEY: “Good, ‘cause I’m sick of listening to you.”
JEN: “I take it none of you would be interested if I told you that I knew what Joey was singing??”
PACEY: “Hey, how come you told Jen??”
JACK: “Were you listening in on Joey practicing?”
ANDIE: “Hurry up and tell us already.”
DAWSON: “Wait how do you know??”
JEN: “To answer everyone’s questions in turn. Pacey, Joey told me nothing. Jack, no I wasn’t eavesdropping. Andie you never really asked a question so, oops I forgot. And Dawson.”
DAWSON: “What?”
JEN: “It was on the singer/song list I went to look for.”
PACEY: “Hey Dawson, let’s go for number thirty-four, ask her again.”
JOEY: “Please don’t, I think if he asks me again I may just be forced to kill him.”
JACK: “Joey!!!?”
JOEY: “Don’t be a stranger.”
PACEY: “There that wasn’t so hard, was it??”
JOEY(to Dawson): “Happy now??”
DAWSON (sarcastically) : “Ecstatic!!”
Song number nine is being sung by some guy in one of Jacks art classes. He is singing ‘If you love me’ by Ronan Keating.
you turn away when i capture your glance (should i fall)
and then you say you’ve been dreaming of me (am i right)
And i don’t know what i should believe
so all of me could just let go
you could have me heart and soul
if you love me . . . then just let me know
i wanna be there in your dreams
you gotta show me that you want it as much as i do
PACEY: “No.”
DAWSON: “Is it just me or does this guy totally kill a perfectly decent song??”
JEN: “It’s not just you.”
JACK: “Jo, how are you feeling??”
JOEY: “Actually not too bad.”
so all of me could just let go
you could have me heart and soul
if you love me . . . then just let me know
**Ronan Keating - If you love me**
PRESENTER TYPE GUY: “The next singer, I hope, will be Joey singing ‘Don’t be a stranger’”.
Joey walks up onto the stage, the music starts and Joey sings.
desire was too strong to put up a fight
i don’t understand the way i feel
although it feels so right
i really shouldn’t be here tonight
in your eyes there’s a sign
of intensity, i sense an
atmosphere, no need to hide
from the way you feel inside
there’s nothing left to fear
don’t be a stranger
i want to take the chance
risk it all for you
knowing what i’m gonna do
if only for tonight
don’t be a stranger
i want it all from you tonight
i really shouldn’t stay with you tonight
but the more and more i think of it
the more it just seems right
that’s why i wanna be here tonight
now i find i don’t know who i really am
i’m lost without a trace
take me high, take me low
any how you know
help me if you can
don’t be a stranger
i want to take the chance
risk it all for you
knowing what i’m gonna do
if only for tonight
don’t be a stranger
i want it all from you tonight
to say no, hold me
close, don’t let me go
i wanna take this chance
risk it all for you, is what i’m gonna
don’t be a stranger
i want to take the chance
risk it all for you
knowing what i’m gonna do
if only for tonight
don’t be a stranger
i want it all from you............. tonight
**Dina Carroll – Don’t be a Stranger**
JOEY: “No, definitely not.”
Jack, Jen, Pacey and Dawson went to play pool, while Andie and Joey talked about classes, how their families are.
Try as I might I just can’t hide
when you came you unlocked all I had inside
like a piece of the puzzle that slots in fine
you came in my life and you made it right
just a feeling - feeling
it’s not just my heart you’re stealing
you know all there is to know
cause you’ve seen inside my soul
a little bit of you is never enough
PACEY: “Andie! Don’t pressure me, when I’m ready and the time is right.”
ANDIE: “Aren’t things going to be strained between her and Jen??”
PACEY: “That’s only if I tell her about Jen, I mean telling her might not be such a good idea.”
ANDIE: “So are you just going to keep it a secret then??”
PACEY: “We’ll see how she takes it first.”
ANDIE: “I just hope that you tell her soon, because I’m finding it hard to look her in the eye and you know what she is like. As soon as she realises that something is wrong she will not give up until she finds out what it is!”
feels like a new day’s dawning
without you without love I just can’t survive no, it’s a craving.
The song fades.
Pacey and Andie just look at each other hoping that Joey didn’t overhear their conversation. Then they look at Joey.
JOEY: “What?”
ANDIE: “Nothing, we where just talking about how well you sang.”
PACEY: “Yeah and how much we are looking forward to going to New York.”
JOEY: “Okay.”
ANDIE: “The coffee will be ready in a minute.”
