Scene: - Dawson’s car - 15 minutes away from Capeside.

JOEY: "Hey Bessie."
BESSIE: "Hi Joey."
JOEY: "Are you busy just now?"
BESSIE: "No I was just about to sit down for five minutes before I start to get things ready for dinner." JOEY: "Good, but forget about making dinner. We have reservations, bring Alex. I assume Bodie is working?"
BESSIE: "Yeah he is."
JOEY: "Well we’ll just see him when we get there."
BESSIE: "Joey what is going on?"
JOEY: "Nothing just some last minute preparations for the wedding. That plus I had a craving for some of Bodie’s food."
BESSIE: "Okay we’ll see you soon."
JOEY: "Bye." She hangs up the phone and turns to Andie and Pacey. "Are you two coming too?"
PACEY: "I was actually going to go visit Doug."
DAWSON: "Aw come on Pacey, just come to dinner. You have to come and see the reaction on my parents face when we tell them that they are going to be grandparents."
PACEY: "Well when you put it like that, I’ll come."
JOEY: "I’ll just phone and book us a table."
GAIL: "Hello, Leery’s Fresh Fish, Gail speaking how can I help you?"
JOEY: "Hi, I’d like to book a table for ten people."
GAIL: "What time would you like your table to be ready?"
JOEY: "Well we’ll be there in about 15 minutes."
GAIL: "That’s fine. What name would you like to book it under?"
JOEY (laughing) : "Leery."
GAIL: "Joey?"
JOEY: "Yeah, it’s me. Just thought that I’d give the new name a try, get used to it." We see Dawson smile. "Not that it will take much to get used to putting Leery after my first name."
Pacey and Andie start laughing in the back of the car.
PACEY: "God, isn’t she sickening?"
ANDIE: "I think that I’m going to throw up and I haven’t even eaten anything yet."
JOEY: "I’ll see you soon Gail. I have to go teach Andie and Pacey a lesson just now."
GAIL (laughing) : "Bye."

Scene: - Dawson’s car - 5 minutes later.

Joey’s phone starts ringing.
JOEY: "Hello."
JACK: "Hi Joey, what’s going on?"
JOEY: "We’re just about to reach Capeside. Where are you?"
JACK: "We just left Boston about ten minutes ago. Why exactly are we going to Capeside?"
JOEY: "We’re going for dinner."
JACK: "They do have restaurants in Boston you know, why are we going to Capeside for dinner?"
JOEY: "Because Boston doesn’t have food as good as Bodie’s and we have some more preparations to do for the wedding."
JACK: "Okay. Hey, we have a surprise for you."
JOEY: "For me?"
JACK: "Well for everyone."
JOEY: "What is it?"
JACK: "I can’t tell you, I’m not allowed to. Jen won’t let me."
JOEY: "Well just hurry up and get here."
JACK: "Later Joey."
JOEY: "They’ve just left Boston and they have some sort of surprise for us."

Scene: - Leery’s fresh fish.

The next hour was filled with small talk, how everyone was and briefly about the wedding. Then Jack and Jen arrive.
JACK: "Hi everyone."
JEN’S MAN: "Surprise!"
JOEY: "Oh my God!"
ANDIE: "What is he doing here?"
JACK: "He’s our surprise."
PACEY: "He’s our surprise? Never going to ask you to surprise me with anything again."
DAWSON: "Drue is the surprise? God you lot are rubbish at surprises."
JOEY: "Dawson if you ever give me a surprise birthday party, I’d rather that you didn’t ask Jack or Jen to help you."
JACK: "Hey, I never said that it was a good surprise."
DRUE: "I’m hurt, if I didn’t know any better I’d say you all haven’t missed me."
DAWSON: "Hey with this crowd that wouldn’t surprise me."
JEN: "This is my new man."
DRUE: "Jenny, we’ve been seeing each other for 10 months now. It’s not exactly new anymore."
JEN: "It is to them." Sees the seating arrangements. "Looks like we’re going to need another seat."
ANDIE (sarcastic) : "Who said we wanted him at our table?"
DRUE: "Hey I’m hurt. Deeply."
PACEY: "I think that we should let Drue sit with us."
JEN: "Really?"
PACEY: "Yeah, why not."
DAWSON: "We could just see if there is a table available for two, in the corner. For you and Jack."
JACK: "It wasn’t my idea to bring him. And he’s not MY boyfriend! Why should I sit in the corner£"
ANDIE: "That’s a good point. What have you got to say for yourself Lindley?"
JEN: "I don’t think that I should have to defend myself. I mean we let Pacey eat at our table, what’s wrong with Drue?"
JOEY: "Ah, she does make a good point."
PACEY: "Okay, now I’m offended."
JOEY, DAWSON, JEN and JACK: "Good."
JEN: "Hey what happened to your face?"
PACEY: "I’ll explain later."

Scene: - 10 minutes later.

GAIL: "So are you all ready to order yet?"
DAWSON: "Not quite, but could you give Bodie a shout for us?"
GAIL: "Sure."

A few minutes later.

BODIE: "So what can I do for you?"
DAWSON: "Take a seat for a moment."
BODIE: "Okay."
DAWSON: "We just really wanted to come here tonight to say thank you to everyone for all the help that you’ve given us with planning the wedding. I know that we still have some more stuff to do and it’s not for another two months yet . . . Thank you."
JOEY: "He’s talking rubbish that’s not why we’re here."
MITCH: "It’s not?"
DAWSON: "No."
JOEY: "I’m pregnant."
BESSIE: "Come again?"
DAWSON: "We’re pregnant."
MITCH: "We are?"
GAIL: "We’re going to have grandkids?"
JOEY: "Well at least one. I found out this morning."
JEN: "Hey congrats."
MITCH: "That was quick, we haven’t even had the wedding yet."
DRUE: "What are you talking about quick? It’s taken them over three years to get pregnant."
JEN: "Ah Drue honey, they’re his parents. Don’t go there."
DRUE: "Ah sorry."
BODIE: "I think that you’re too late for that."
PACEY: "Valentine nothing changes."
JACK (laughing) : "Still can’t take you anywhere."
DAWSON: "Nice to see you haven’t let us down."
DRUE: "Congratulations Dawson, Potter-soon-to-be-Leery."
JOEY: "Thank you. Bessie say something."
BESSIE: "Wow, I’m going to be an aunt."
JOEY: "Yes."
BESSIE: "How far along are you?"
JOEY: "Six weeks. I’m due in January."
BESSIE: "Congratulations. I’m so happy for you."
Dawson puts one arm around Joey’s shoulder and as she leans her head against his shoulder he rubs her tummy.
JACK: "I just knew that you hadn’t just come here for the food."
BODIE: "Are you saying that my food isn’t ‘that’ good?"
JACK: "I didn’t mean it like that. I love your food."
BODIE: "That’s what we like to hear. So are you lot ready to order yet?"
DAWSON: "Yes I think we are."
