Time: 9 months later. Nine months later. - May.
Everything is open
nothing is set in stone
rivers turn to oceans
oceans tide you home
home is where the heart is
but your heart had to roam
drifting over bridges
never to return
watching bridges burn

Scene: - Boston street, outside a cafe. Two months before the wedding.

Andie couldn’t believe what she was seeing. There they where, openly holding hands in the cafe. Just as Jen had said. But it couldn’t be true, could it? She was supposed to be getting married soon. She hadn’t believed it at first, she couldn’t. She wasn’t like that. He wasn’t like that. He wouldn’t, couldn’t do that to her. He wouldn’t hurt her. But now seeing it for herself, it had to be true. Andie just stood across the street outside, frozen. She couldn’t move.

Scene: - Cafe internal.
you’re driftwood floating underwater
breaking into pieces, pieces, pieces

Pacey and Joey stopped holding hands and stood up.

Scene: - Boston street.
just driftwood hollow and of no use
waterfalls will find you, bind you, grind you

nobody is an island
everyone has to go

Andie still couldn’t move, even as she saw Pacey and Joey about to leave. Then Joey said something and Pacey laughed and hugged her. He then went to kiss her. Knowing what was about to happen, Andie ran. Knowing that she wouldn’t have been able to handle seeing Pacey and Joey kissing.

Scene: - Andie, Jen and Joey’s apartment. Andie is in her room.
pillars turn to butter
butterflying low
low is where your heart is
but your heart has to grow
drifting under bridges
never with the flow

About an hour after Andie arrives home there is a knock at the door. Andie goes to the bathroom to wash her face, as she has been crying. The she answers the door, it’s Dawson.

DAWSON: "Hi Andie. Is Joey in?"
ANDIE: "Hey Dawson. She has a class. But I think that you should come in. There’s something I need to tell you."
DAWSON (laughing) : "Now, now Andie. You should know that it isn’t nice to gossip."
Just then Andie starts crying.

And you really didn’t think it would happen
but it really is the end of the line
so I’m sorry that you turned to driftwood
but you’ve been drifting for a long, long time

ANDIE: "We really need to talk."
Dawson comes inside and closes the door. He then hugs Andie and leads her into her bedroom.
DAWSON: "Andie what’s wrong?" Andie doesn’t say anything. "Come on Andie, tell me why you’re so upset. Do you want me to go and call Pacey?"
ANDIE: "No, don’t!"
DAWSON (surprised that she doesn’t want to see Pacey) : "Why?"
ANDIE: "Because this is about Pacey."
DAWSON: "Is something wrong?"
ANDIE: "Yes. It’s about Pacey and Joey."
DAWSON: "What about them?"
ANDIE: "They’re having an affair."
DAWSON: "Excuse me."
ANDIE: "I said they’re having an affair."

Everywhere there’s trouble
nowhere’s safe to go
pushes turn to shovels
shoveling the snow
frozen you have chosen
the path you wish to go
drifting now forever
and forever more
until you reach your shore

Andie then tells Dawson the whole story. How Jen saw Pacey and Joey two days ago holding hands and then they kissed. She then told Andie, who up until an hour ago didn’t believe it.
ANDIE (still crying): "I didn’t believe her Dawson. I told her so. I said it couldn’t be true. He wouldn’t do that, she wouldn’t do that. Then I saw it myself Dawson. I saw them, they where holding hands. They where about to kiss."
Dawson then hugs Andie.
ANDIE: "I don’t think that I can take another break up with Pacey. I just can’t."

Dawson then lets go of Andie and stands up.
DAWSON: "I have to go." He then grabs his car keys.
ANDIE: "Where are you going?"
DAWSON (angry) : "To Pacey’s!"
ANDIE: "Why?"
DAWSON: "I need to know why?"
ANDIE: "Dawson, No."
Just as Dawson opens the door, Pacey is about to knock on the door. He looks surprised to see Dawson there. Just then Dawson punches him square on the jaw, knocking him to the ground. He then just walks away. A stunned Andie then helps Pacey to his feet.
PACEY (in pain) : "What was that for and why have you been crying? What was he doing here anyway?"

ANDIE: "He came because he thought that this was Joey’s day off. And you should know the answer to the other two questions!"
She then holds an ice pack to his jaw, which makes him flinch.
PACEY: "I don’t know why."
ANDIE: "I know all about you and Joey, all about your little affair."
PACEY: "What are you talking about?"
ANDIE: "I know about your little affair with Joey Potter. The cuddles, the kisses. When Jen told me I didn’t believe her, I mean I couldn’t. I honestly never thought that I’d see the day that you where unfaithful to me. Right enough that was before I saw you two with my own eyes."
PACEY: "Andie, I’m not having an affair with anyone."
ANDIE: "Really, so just what the hell is going on between you two?"
PACEY: "She just needed a friend to confide in."

ANDIE: "Really, because you’ve been spotted twice kissing and holding hands, doesn’t sound like she was just confiding in you. It sounds like more than that is going on."
PACEY: "I already told you. She needed a friend. It was all purely innocent. Whoever saw us obviously didn’t hang around long enough, otherwise they would have saw that it was only a peck on the lips."
ANDIE: "And if that’s true just what exactly was Joey telling you?" Pacey doesn’t say anything he just looks at her. "Why won’t you tell me?" Pacey still doesn’t say anything, he just turns away from Andie. "Is it because you two haven’t talked about a cover story yet?? If you felt anything at all for me you’d tell me the truth about what was going on?!"
This time Pacey says something but Andie can’t make out what it is.
ANDIE: "What?"
