While Pacey and Jack went to Pacey’s to get some stuff together, Andie called the airline to book a flight. Pacey’s flight left at 6:40pm and as soon as he arrived in LA he took a cab. He was surprised that he wasn’t tired but he had managed to get some sleep on the plane. As the cab pulled up outside the apartment Dawson staying in, he hoped that he was in. Pacey slung his rucksack over his shoulder and walked towards the front door.

Scene: - Dawson’s temporary apartment.

We see Dawson lying on a couch with his eyes closed. Just then the door goes. His eyes open but he doesn’t move. The door then goes again, this time he gets up to answer it. He opens the door and is surprised to see Pacey.

DAWSON: “Pacey is that you?”
PACEY: “Yes D-man, it’s me. I know that we haven’t seen each other since you left Boston about two months ago, but I haven’t changed that much!”

DAWSON: “Come in. Ah, not that I’m upset to see you or anything but why are you here?”
PACEY: “I’m here to sort something out.”
DAWSON: “What are you sorting?”
PACEY: “You and Joey!”
DAWSON: “Me and Joey? Why? When did we break?”
PACEY: “So you haven’t called off the wedding?”
DAWSON: “I’m a little lost Pacey, plus I was sleeping. Explain it to me.”
Pacey tells Dawson the whole story.
DAWSON: “She thinks I’ve called it off?”
PACEY: “Yep, why haven’t you called her man?”
DAWSON: “I’ve been really busy. I’m working all sorts of hours. One day I’m working through the night, the next I’m working in the morning. I haven’t been getting a lot of sleep!”
PACEY: “What are you working tomorrow?”
DAWSON: “Tomorrow’s Sunday, I finally have a day off.”

PACEY: “When are you working on Monday?”
DAWSON: “I start at twelve, why?”
PACEY: “Get a bag ready, our flight leaves in an hour and thirty minutes.”
DAWSON: “Huh, excuse me?”
PACEY: “We’re sorting this out ASAP.”
DAWSON: “We can’t leave in the morning?”
PACEY: “Nope Dawson, you didn’t see how upset she was.”
DAWSON: “I can only imagine.”

We then see a collage of scenes. Dawson and Pacey arriving at the airport, getting into Pacey’s car and then some shots of them driving through Boston.

Scene: - Andie, Jen and Joey’s apartment, internal view 5am.
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

We see a shot of the door. Then it opens and Pacey takes the key out and lets Dawson enter.

PACEY: “I’m just going to bunk with Andie tonight.”
DAWSON: “Okay. But try and keep the noise down, some of us need some sleep.”
PACEY: “That’s not what I meant!”
DAWSON (laughing) : “I know. That’s normally the sort of thing you’d be telling me.”
Pacey laughs.

Scene: - Andie’s room.
The music continues.

Pacey enters, takes off his shoes, socks and trousers. He then climbs in bed beside Andie, cuddling up to her.

ANDIE (not opening her eyes) : “You’re cold, what time is it?”
PACEY: “Five-ish.”
ANDIE: “Is he with you?”
PACEY: “Yes, it was just a big misunderstanding.” He kisses her hair. “Go back to sleep.”

Scene: - Joey’s room.
The music continues.

Dawson enters and puts down his overnight bag, takes off his shoes and socks. Then he walks over to the bed and sits down.

DAWSON (thinking to himself) : “God she looks so beautiful, and peaceful considering what she has been feeling for the past few days.”
He then moves some strands of hair off of her face. She wriggles her nose but doesn’t waken up. He leans down and kisses her and her eyes shoot open.
DAWSON: “Hi there.”
JOEY: “Hey. What are you doing here?”
DAWSON: “We need to talk!”
JOEY: “Oh.”
DAWSON: “Pacey told me everything.”
JOEY: “I told him not to call you!”
DAWSON: “He didn’t call. He came and got me, we just got in. Joey how could you think such a thing? How could you think that I would call off the wedding?”
JOEY (her eyes watering up) : “I just thought the worst with you not calling back.”
DAWSON: “I’ve been working the worst hours ever this past week. I’ve hardly had any sleep and I’m sorry for not calling. I’m sorry for making you feel this way.”

JOEY (a single tear slides down her face) : “I’m sorry for bringing it up all of the time.”
DAWSON: “You don’t have to be sorry, it happened. And if it hadn’t happened things would most likely be different between us now. We mightn’t be together or we might have already been married by now. Who knows, we might have eventually fallen out for good. But don’t think for one minute that you can’t talk about our past, good or bad. You don’t have to watch what you say to me. All that’s important is now. Except now I know how much you missed me back then because I know how much I miss you now. I didn’t even know that you missed me back then.”
JOEY: “How could I not miss you? Because even then I loved you.”
DAWSON: “You are a complete sap.”
JOEY: “Guess where I get it from.” She sits up and hugs him. “I love you.”
DAWSON: “I love you too Joey.”
They kiss briefly.
JOEY: “When was the last time that you had a decent sleep?”
DAWSON: “Decent sleep, what’s that? I think that it was about two weeks ago.”
JOEY: “Go put on some PJ’s and come to bed.”
DAWSON: “Yes sir.”
He then takes a T-shirt and some boxer shorts out of a drawer and changes. Then he climbs in bed beside Joey, spooning her. They both drift off to sleep.

Scene: - The next day. The kitchen.
Joey is in the kitchen preparing some food for herself and Dawson to go on a picnic. As she is finishing her preparations Pacey walks in.

PACEY: “Hey Joey, what are you doing?”
JOEY: “Making some stuff for Dawson and I for a picnic.”
PACEY: “How are you?”
JOEY: “I’m much better thanks to you.”
PACEY: “How what’d I do?”
JOEY: “Pacey . . .”
PACEY: “You don’t have to thank me. I was just returning a favour.”
JOEY: “What favour?”
PACEY: “Andie. If Dawson hadn’t told me to go talk to her, we wouldn’t have gotten back together.” Joey walks over to him and hugs him.
JOEY (whilst they are hugging) : “I still think that I do have to thank you. You could just have left things and let me worry but you didn’t. You knew that it would have been better if things where sorted out. You also told me that Dawson was probably just busy, which he was.” Starting to cry. “Your such a good friend Pacey, have I told you that? Well if I haven’t I’m telling you now. It’s just that when I get a thought in my head I can’t get rid of it. I just think the worst of everything.” Joey is now crying quite heavily.
At this point Pacey notices Dawson standing at Joey’s door. He waves him over.
PACEY: “Hey that’s okay.” He then takes Joey’s arms from around his neck and turns her towards Dawson. He puts her arms around Dawson’s neck and Dawson puts his arms around her waist as she leans her head against his chest. “I’ll leave you two alone.”
DAWSON: “Pace?”
PACEY (turning around) : “Yeah?”
DAWSON: “Thanks.” To Joey: “It’s okay Jo, I’m not going anywhere. Not now, not ever.”
JOEY: “I know. I’ve decided not to let you go. We’re just going to have to spend the rest of our lives like this, in this kitchen.”
DAWSON: “There’s just one problem with that?”
JOEY: “What’s that?”
DAWSON: “Well I’m kinda hungry. . . “ She laughs at this. “That’s much better. Laughing Jo is much better than crying Jo. And besides, if we stay like this we can’t get married. And as much as I like us being like this,” He then whispers in her ear. “I’d much rather be married to you.”

Scene: - Dawson and Joey on their picnic in the park.
They are sitting under a tree. Dawson has his back leaning against the tree and Joey is sitting between his legs with here back against Dawson’s chest.

JOEY: “Well you only have four more weeks left until you come back.”
DAWSON: “I know it’s great isn’t it?”
JOEY: “Yep. So are you going to miss Hollywood?”
DAWSON: “Yes, but not as much as I’ve missed not being here with you.”
JOEY: “And it’s not like you’re never ever going to go back ever.”
DAWSON: “Are you thinking that maybe we could live there?”
JOEY: “Maybe.”
DAWSON: “Oh Jo, even if we don’t live there you have to come with me sometime. I think that you’d really love it there.”
Joey puts her hand on Dawson’s hand which is resting on his leg, she then threads her fingers through his. They both just sit there looking at their engagement rings.
JOEY: “Do you know something? I should have thought of this like a month ago, thinking that the wedding was off. It would have meant that I would have gotten to see you sooner!”
DAWSON: “Hey don’t make a habit of this sort of thing. Do you really like having me worry about you? Wondering if you’re okay, wondering how I can make you feel better.”
JOEY (turning to face Dawson.) : “Okay I won’t make a habit of it. Maybe just once or twice.” Dawson gives her a serious look. “Okay, I won’t do it at all.” He leans down and kisses her.
DAWSON: “Maybe I should pull that stunt.”
JOEY: “Don’t you dare.”

Scene: - Boston Airport. Everyone is there to see Dawson off.

PACEY: “Okay so the next time we see LA at the same time, make sure it’s more than just your apartment, the airport and a quick drive down Hollywood Boulevard. Okay.”
DAWSON: “Okay you’re easily pleased.”
ANDIE: “He told me that just because he saw the real Hollywood sign doesn’t mean he saw Hollywood.”
PACEY: “Hey you can probably see it from the moon!”
JEN: “You do realise that you can’t actually see it from the moon?”
PACEY: “And just how would you know, have you been there?”
JACK (Before Jen can reply) : “Yes as a matter of fact she has been there. We both have. We where there last night at the ‘ You can’t see the Hollywood sign from the moon’ nightclub. It’s location, the moon.”
JEN: “Nice one Jack.”
JACK: “No problems.”
PACEY: “Smart ass.”
ANDIE: “You are sooo my brother!”
PACEY: “Are you picking on me too?”
JOEY: “Hey, be nice to Pacey. He did a nice thing this weekend!”
PACEY: “Yes I did.” He then throws his arms in the air. “I have now fulfilled this years quota of nice things. Now I can be mean.”
DAWSON: “Just out of curiosity, how many nice things have you done this year?”
Pacey puts on a thoughtful face and starts mumbling to himself while he counts on his fingers up to seven. (This is sort of like the kind of thing that Joey would do in Friends).
PACEY: “Yep if I remember correctly my quota was one. Job well done.”
DAWSON: “Just what I suspected man. You’re too much.”
PACEY: “I know. Sometimes I even surprise myself.”
DAWSON: “So anyway I’ll try and get back within the next two weeks.”
JACK: “Well that’s just great, then we’ll have to look at his mug for a full weekend.”
JEN: “Totally going to be unbearable.”
ANDIE: “Pace, can I stay with you if he comes back?”
PACEY: “No, ask your brother!”
JEN: “Too late, I’m staying with him.”
JOEY: “Yes, that means I ” Kisses Dawson. “have you and the apartment” She kisses Dawson again. “all to myself.”
DAWSON: “Nice to know I’m being missed by someone.”
They all laugh.
ANDIE: “There’s just no accounting for some peoples taste.”
DAWSON + JOEY: “Hey!!”
Dawson’s flight is called.
DAWSON: “Well guys, this is me going now.”
ANDIE, PACEY, JACK +JEN: “Yes!!”
DAWSON: “Keep talking like that and I’ll start to think that you really don’t like me.”
JEN: “God, I wish he’d get a clue!”
PACEY: “Hey it’s Dawson we’re talking about.”
JACK + ANDIE: “Oblivious as always.”
JOEY: “I wouldn’t say that.”
DAWSON (kisses her nose) : “Thank you.”
JEN: “Anyway see you soon Dawson.”
ANDIE: “Bye Dawson.”
JACK: “Later Dawson.”
PACEY: “Now no chatting up the air-hostesses this time!”
DAWSON: “That wasn’t me, that was you.”
ANDIE: “Really?”
Everyone leaves Joey with Dawson.
PACEY: “He was kidding, because I was kidding.”
Their talking fades.
DAWSON: “So hopefully I’ll see you in two weeks.”
JOEY: “Yes and then it won’t be long.”
DAWSON: “And we have plenty of time together before classes start back.” They kiss. “So I’ll speak to you later?”
JOEY: “Yeah right, like that ever happens.”
DAWSON: “Bye.”
JOEY: “See ya, I love you.”
DAWSON: “I love you too.”
PACEY: “Come on Dawson tell her it was a joke.”
DAWSON (pointing to Pacey) : “You...are on your own. Andie...never mind.” Then he winks at Andie.
