WHEN are the DJAwards?
Nominations: completed December 10, 2002
Voting will be held: December 17, 2002 through January 17, 2003
Who's eligible?
Any and all fics containing a D/J element that are posted or archived BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF NOMINATIONS, and did *not* win first place in that category last year, are eligible. For example if a fic won first in the "Drama" category, it can not be nominated in that category, but it *can* be nomintated for all other categories.

Nominations:
Nominations will be made by any person OTHER THAN THE AUTHOR, by emailing the DJAwards committee at [email protected] with the title, author, category and where the fic can be found (if not archived at the DJA). View a sample nomination form here
* You DO NOT need to nominate something for every category. Only nominate the fics that truly stand out in your mind and you feel deserve an award.
* DO NOT nominate more than one fic per category!
* Fics can be nominated for as many categories as the are eligible for. The final decision on qualification for a category will be made by the DJAwards committee.
At the close of nominations the authors of nominated fics will be notified and asked permission to enter their fic.
Voting:
Voting will proceed the same as nominations, with an email to the DJAwards committee at [email protected], listing the categories and the titles of fics. A sample email, with the list of categories to cut and paste into the email, to make the voting process simpler for you, is provided here.
Only one vote is allowed per person per category and any person found violating ths rule *will* be banned from the voting and any fics they have in the awards will be withdrawn.
You DO NOT need to vote for a fic in every category. Only vote for the fics that you feel truly deserve an award.
Categories:
Best Drama (According to my dictionary, "filled with action, emotion, or exciting qualities")
Best Humor (Fics that are purposely meant to be funny, silly, or satirical)
Best Angst (Fics with "anxiety and depression")
Best Action/Adventure (Do you really need that explained?)
Best Romance (Again, if you don't get this one, ya need some help)
Best Future Story (Set sometime after season 5)
Best Alternate Universe story (Anything set in a differnt timeline/plotline than canon)
Best Songfic (Any fic that includes lyrics from a song)
Best Episode Based story (Any fic taking place in or directly after an episode)
Best Drabble (Must be exactly 100 words)
Best Collaboration (Two or more authors)
Best Series (Two or more fics which directly tie together. Need not be by the same author)
Best Work-in-Progress (WiP) (Fics that have been started and posted but not finished by the beginning of nominations)
Best NC-17 (Fics which are rated NC-17 for sexual content)
Most likely to Recommend (The one fic that you'd recommend above all others)
Best Author (Your favorite author)
**Please note that the DJA committee reserves the right to eliminate and/or
combine categories as we see fit after nomiantions are in. Fics will then be placed in other suitable categories, but NOT eliminated from the awards altogether.**
