My very first handmade guitar!
After six months, and a lot of driving to New Caney (Tx.), I completed my first guitar. I was working out of the Axehandle Guitar Works shop that my good friend Huey P. Wilkinson let me invade. He also gave me sound advice when really needed. Anyway, I had always wanted an archtop jazz guitar, but they usually run $6,000-$10,000 for a truly great one and I haven't won the lottery, ....yet! So I decided to read a couple of books on the subject and build my own. (Actually, I've always been obsessed with guitar construction and have studied the subject since 8th grade, but passing it off in such a manner is much more impressive.)   Well, here it is!
One of the greatest things about building your own guitar is that it can carry your name long after you're gone.
In person the color is not as red as it appears. It's more of an antique / tea color. I just got this camera and will figure out the best way to get the true color to show online.
Check out the flame on the back and sides! (Flame=wood grain pattern)
