CUIN Final Assessment The CUIN 6320 class showed me the weaknesses I had in regards to computer skills. I had good computer skills and felt very confident in most areas. I had previously taken three introductory level computer courses that taught HTML, basic programming, and Internet technology. However, there were a few programs that I had never used or even heard of until taking CUIN 6320. My expectation was that there would be new concepts that I would have to learn for integrating technology in the classroom. Therefore, I just felt open to learning something new. Every activity we covered over the semester applied to the first performance indicator. However, individual activity #1 specifically covered technology operations and concepts. The second performance indicator was covered with the webquest project. It utilized planning and designing a learning experience. The third indicator was met by collaborative activity #3 and individual activity # 9, which both covered curriculum. The fourth indicator was met by both individual activities #2 and #10, which were evaluations of educational websites and programs. The fifth indicator was met by Individual activities 3 and 4, which both covered using applications in a professional and productive manner. Finally, the sixth indicator was covered by individual activity # 6, which was about technological abuse and ethics. I think that my computer skills have definitely increased. I had never used a spreadsheet before this class, or even a graphic organizer. I will never waste my time writing HTML again! I was amazed to find out how easy it is to create a website. The class was extremely helpful. Considering all the concepts and skills I have learned in such a short amount of time, there is nothing that I would change about the course. It is efficiently designed. |
