This site is for documenting modifications to my Suzuki Swift. I will be going about making changes in many areas. The car is a 1993 1600cc 16v GLX Sedan. It has been lowered approximately 1 1/2 inches using H&R springs. The control arm, sway bar, rear knuckle, lateral bar/control rod and the end link bushes have been changed out to polyurethane. The rear disc brakes from the GTi have also been fitted to it as the sedan comes with drums at the back and I have custom made stainless steel brake lines and Silicone based brake fluid.

Future Mods:

  • Change from automatic to manual transmission
  • Change from Carbureted to Fuel Injected
  • Change SOHC head to GTi DOHC head
  • Still under consideration is a turbo or Nitrous Oxide
When changing the head I hope to get an SR20 throttle body from the Nissan engine and a Cultus Intake manifold which I will bore out to match the throttle body or I will get a quad throttle body and get a custom manifold fabricated. A dyno will be taken between mods, one while stock, another after changing to fuel injected and DOHC and another if I turbocharge it.

Update:

  • March 2004: Changed my transmission to manual so now I need to do a dyno run to see what i'm getting and also need to run on the drag strip to see what times i'm making.

  • December 2003: My engine got destroyed, my brake master cylinder was leaking so the booster was full of brake fluid which got sucked into my intake, boom, no more engine. Got a used engine and eventually found out about the master cylinder and got that fixed before it wrecked my brand new second hand engine.
