About The Goo Goo Dolls
The Goo Goo Dolls formed in 1986, originally as Sex Maggot, which Johnny denies. In '86 the band consisted of Robby Takac(bass and vocals), Johnny Rzeznik(guitar) and George Tutuska(drums). One thier first release, Goo Goo Dolls, in 1987 Johnny didn't do any voacls but by the release of thier second album, Jed, in '89 Johnny began singing a few songs here and there on the album. Now in '99 after the release of Dizzy Up The Girl (Oct. 22 '98), which has gone TRIPLE platinum, Johnny has come to be known as the Goo's frontman singing most of the songs and always in the spotlight. Most of the attention brought to the band is thru Johnny, I'm not saying he attracts all the attention because the music does that, but in every interview I see whether it's on MTv, VH1 or a magazine Johnny does all the talking.
OK, about the guys...
Johnny Rzeznik was born on December 5, 1965. He grew up in east Buffalo, New York in a section called "Polakville." Both of Johnny's parents died when he was around 15, making him an orphan. After high school he aspired to be a plumber, but he has now found his true calling...lead member of the Goo Goo Dolls (lucky for us huh?!?). Johnny loves the spotlight both onstage and off, he loves it when girls are back stage drooling over him and you can tell. But he still acts like a normal guy. He also has a shitload of jokes that he loves to tell... he gets a kick out of himself I swear.
Robby Takac was born on September 30, 1964. He also grew up in Buffalo, New York. He comes from a happy little family... Johnny occassionally says how he is jealous of that... Robbie's parents are really nice to the Goo fans, they give updates and talk to fans at shows and what not. He's been married and divorced once. Robby loves Pez (the little candies with the dispensers) he even dressed as a Batman Pez for Halloween this year. In person Robby is really sweet and loves to make silly poses for the camera... i have quite a few of his silly faces. Robby is more or less the guy in the band who likes to talk backstage to the fans about different things were as (not to be mean) Johnny likes to check the girlies out. Before forming the Goo Goo Dolls in '86, Robby was part of a few bands including one punk band, the Monarchs, with the former drummer George.
Mike Malinin was born on October 10, 1967. He grew up in South Florida. He doesn't really talk much at all but from what I gather he is somewhat of an athelete...I think he runs alot. On TRL he was talking about playing softball and golfing... guess sports are his hobby. Mike is really sweet in person but he is still shy. He does talk a little and he is more than happy to take pics with a few fans and sign stuff. He was like in a state of shock when he went to introduce hiself to me at a Meet & Greet and i was like "duh i know who you are silly," he just blushed and giggled. He tries to hide though, I don't think he really feels comfortable getting lots of attention but hey he's a Goo too so he gets just as much attention as everyone else.
During the Dizzy tour, Goo has two "touring" members. Nathan December is the touring guitarist and he is guite GOOd (anyone know what his thing with the #12 is?). Louise(aka The Goddess of Goo) and a friend have told me they think the 12 thing is for Dec. like the 12th month... sounds GOOd to me... i never thought of it that way.Dave Schutlz is the touring keyboard player and he is also very GOOd and he has a great on stage personality. As of right now Nathan and Dave aren't official Goos but who knows maybe they will join the band.

I don't particularly know very much about either one of them. I do know that Nathan has toured with R.E.M. in the past and Dave is from Buffalo and has his own band in Buffalo to which he is the lead singer... he has also been caught on Taxi Cab confessions with a Goo Groupie...
