Some Q and A's
What is your course?
I took up the 5-year BSCPE (Computer Engineering) course from June 1998 until October 2002. I was around at the campus for about 9 semesters.
Why Computer Engineering?
My mom used to say to me back at high school, that i should take up engineering. After i graduated high school, i finally figured up to take the course. Back then, when you say computer, it would be the next in-thing.
Why Computronix College (CC)?
After deciding what i want to take, certain staff of the college went to ASSF (Archdiocesan School of San Fabian) to invite new students. I did see their course list and fortunately, they do offer the course.
Why study in Pangasinan, not in Manila?
Yah, i realize how much a Manila-based school or university would mean so much in your resume. But back then, CC was the 1st choice 'coz of accessibility. Besides, incurring lesser expenses, no worries for lodging, meals, allowances and other money matters. These factors had contributed to the decision.
Good things about Computronix?
Besides the much-bragged title of being "The Cleanest and Greenest Campus in Region I" as awarded by CHED (Commission on Higher Education), CC has a much more disciplined atmosphere.. much needed to learn productively. Hey, our school has no fraternity (if it exist, it might be underground and is not duly recognized by the school), no rallies, no activist (principles are kept burning inside, no outlet for such...just a union for silent, violent reaction). I can see my alma mater being a totally-recognized university for about 10 years more.
Have you learned that MUCH?
I can say now that Manila-based has the edge, amongst them is the QUALITY OF EDUCATION. At CC, studies are more on theories and lesser on application. Computer Engineering syllabus are lesser computer and more engineering. This could be manifested by having more computer-related subjects only on the latter senior years. Moreover, it's still depends on each student's capability and ability to learn more outside campus...

WARNING !!! Comments here are not meant to degrade Computronix College's quality of education, rather a constructive criticism. I'm still proud to be an alumni of a school that taught me to excel inside and outside campus. Outside world are filled with learning that you can't learn at classroom. Indeed, learning doesn't stop at the 4 corners of the classroom.
