Prologue II: An Anti-Coalition Coalition (Or A Coalition Against Coalitions) Is Formed

Stuck to the sunlight of Sasha's apartment, using four suction cup-like things, was Hate Boy. Apparently, to no one's notice, he'd been spying on them the whole time. "The Fabulous Five?" he asked aloud, "This may be bad." He scampered down the side of the apartment and ran to the Portal to the Underworld. He must inform his master, Satan, of this Coalition at once!

The Underworld was cold. Colder than anyone would have thought it to be. It was, as some of the lost souls down there liked to say, "as cold as Hell." Which, of course, would make sense considering "the Underworld" was just a fancy name for Hell. Hate Boy landed at Satan's feet. At once he put on his winter jacket. Without a winter jacket it would be hard to survive in the Underworld. Even Satan wore a sort of parka. Nobody would actually say it to his face, but he really looked quite silly in it.

"My lord!" Hate Boy panted, "Something fishy is going on with the earth-types! They seem to have formed some sort of Coalition!" He took a breath. All that scampering up in Santa Fe had worn him out. This cold wasn't helping much either. Satan nodded. He never said anything unless it was entirely necessary. This didn't seem like one of those times. A Coalition was no match for Satan's Army of Hate. Especially this "Fabulous Five," which only consisted of five earth-types.

Regardless, Hate Boy scampered (He did that a lot) over to the dungeon which held the three prisoners he'd captured a day earlier. The dungeon was extremely hot. This was to torture the prisoners. Once they finally got used to the heat and developed a sort of immunity toward it, they would be released into the rest of the Underworld, where the cold would take them by surprise. Hate Boy had taken the time to get to know each one of the prisoners as an individual, and came to learn that this Pete was a rather interesting fellow. Since the capture, and since everyone had been brainwashed to comply with Satan and Hate Boy's commands, Pete had changed his name to Skippy (As I told you he would in Prologue IV). There was really no reasoning behind it, other than the fact that "Skippy" sounded more threatening than "Pete." To him, at least. Everyone else just sort of nodded because he was bigger than them.

"Hey, fellows?" Hate Boy started, "We got a problem. Five earth-types have formed a Coalition in order to keep us from destroying Santa Fe. Satan didn't seem to care, but I think we should form a Counter-Coalition in order to defend against their Coalition. Such Coalition would be a Coalition against Coalitions. We'd have to sort out any confusion as to why our Coalition isn't against our own Coalition, so once we're done destroying their Coalition, our Coalition could disband and we'd form a new Anti-Coalition Coalition. But we wouldn't call it a Coalition. A guild, perhaps."

Gonzo was drooling. Hate Boy glared at him and he sopped it up at once with his arm. "They call themselves the 'Fabulous Five.' So who's with me?"

Skippy curled his lips, "I hate the Fabulous Five!" Everyone gave him a quizzical stare, forcing him to cover up his lie, "I mean...what a stupid name for a Coalition!" Everyone agreed with him, so Skippy said "I'm with you, Hate Boy. I say we start the Fabulous Five Haters Coalition."

"Yes, Skippy," said Hate Boy, "but if this is a true Anti-Coalition Coalition, we must not call outselves a Coalition."

"Right then. A club then. The Fabulous Five Haters club." Skippy grinned. He liked the sound of that.

Gonzo's eyes widened. Though he wasn't the smartest of beings, he too liked the idea of this club. "I will make people join this club. Soon enough everyone will hate the Fabulous Five! Even the Fabulous Five themselves will hate...themselves!" (This may be a foreshadowing to the fact that Tyrant ends up leaving the Fabulous Five for the Fabulous Five Haters (FFH) club.)

So it was done. The Fabulous Five wouldn't last longer than five days. Or five years, since again, nobody was good with time in either Santa Fe or the Underworld.
