Being Gothic- Clothing and Accessories

Clothing:
| Plus size girls often have trouble finding really cool
and Gothic clothing. Hot Topic has opened a sister store called Torrid.
They carry sizes 12 and up. It is absolutely one of my favorite stores.
|
 |
Hot Topic has everything you need, from clothing to
accessories to make-up to shoes! Some people call it "Retail
Gothic". But for those of us out in the sticks, I call it convenient.
They have great stuff and make sure you check out the clearance section. |
|

|
Gothic Dresses
This
is a regular online clothing site, but they do sell some Gothic
and Renaissance style dresses. They have a nice selection for a
very "normal" looking site.
|
 |
Emily isn't clothing, but she has a clothing line. She
is one of my favorites as far as baby doll tees goes. Emily the Strange
is great for those casual days. |
 |
An awesome artist named Brom designed this shirt. I know I'm
only sending you to one shirt, but this was worth the space on this
page. They also have a couple of his other designs you can get to
from this page. |
If money is an issue, you can find some alternative corset choices around
$100 or less. Just remember, wearing these are more for costume than for
losing inches. For a real corset of extraordinary quality, go to my friend
Suzanne, or
another profession corsetiere.
|
|
Halloween and costume shops are a great way to add pieces
to your wardrobe. Just make sure you look for the higher quality items.
These two capes drape like coffin lining. I think they're pretty cool,
but I don't know the quality as I haven't seen them in person. They
look pretty good from the pictures though. |
|
|
|
|
These are more clothing options from the Costume Zone.
The dresses could be used for clubbing, and the poet shirt looks to
be very good quality. |

Another online costume shop with some interesting dress
choices. They have plus sizes also. |

Accessories:
 |
 |
Although this site is primarily contact lenses, they
also have a selection of really cool jewelry, Manic Panic hair colors,
Manic Panic make-up, Henna tattoo kits, T-shirts, incense, tarot cards,
and other wicked gifts. Including tombstone shaped soaps, gravestone
rubbing kits, and coffin gift boxes. |
|
Fishnets are a Gothic staple. And these are available
for so cheap! Only $1.95 a pair. |
|
These tights are going to run you more money, but look
at the feet. They are reinforced to make it easier to wear them without
your feet poking through. |
|
This is an example of the type of jewelry you can find
at Catalog City. They are really a sell a bit of everything site,
but if you search, you can find some wonderful items. They have a
lot of Celtic choices in particular. |
|
|
Well, being Gothic we tend to stay out of the sun. It's
necessary to own a great many sunglasses if you're going to be out
in the daylight hours. |

Beauty:
 |
Cool contact lenses can change your eye color, or give
you other creepy effects. |
 |
Animalistic, dazed, exotic, freaky, ghoulish, mystical,
otherworldly are all a part of the Wild Eyes collection. They also
have a number of other choices available in their Crazy and Wicked
FX collections. Pretty cool! |
|
Vampire/Elf ears are a fun accessory. Wear them to club
or Halloween. |
|
|
|
Vampire Teeth are a popular accessory with the club
going Goths. Some come in coffins. Some go on like dentures. Some
have double sets of fangs. |
|
|
Buy Costumes dot com also has their selection of Vampire
Teeth available. |
|
A lot of the club going Gothic croud goes to extremes
in dressing. Something like this "Bondage Vampire" wouldn't
really be a stretch for some people even though it's sold in a costume
shop. |
|
A vampire bite is sometimes a fun little touch. These
are ideas you wouldn't use daily, but sometimes it's fun to add little
extras like these when you're going out. |
