Summer 2002 Pattern Finds |
![]() |
McCall's Costumes P311 A great new corset pattern. This is not just a costume but an actual corset. The shape is exactly like one I had professionally made for me, so I'm excited about being able to do this myself. Other items on the pattern are a camisole and pantaloons that could be made very Gothic, and a hoop skirt. The hoop skirt isn't all that useful for club, but should you be making a wedding dress any time soon and want black instead of white, this handy pattern will do that for you! |

Butterick P208 This is from their Making History collection. They do their best to put together historically accurate clothing, which is helpful for the sewing Goth. Historical fashions lend themselves well to Gothic fashion. These blouses have the wonderful high neck collars and the blouse in the lower right hand corner has that rufflie collar which is actually detachable. The pattern also includes a sash for the waste of the blouse. And there are four different sleeve options. These are wonderful Victorian blouses for the inspired Goth. |

Butterick P210 And finally, we have the Victorian skirts. Wonderful reproductions and really simple to make. They would go very well with the blouses mentioned earlier for a period look, or mix and match periods. Who cares? You're Gothic! Because the skirts are authentic, they are really great for dolling up for club. |
Looking these patterns up online, I notice that the numbers on the envelope didn't match the numbers at the web site. So these patterns are available at McCall's.com and Butterick.com respectively. The McCall's pattern if you are not looking in the store, is 3609. The blouse pattern from Butterick is 3417 and the skirts, 3418.
