How to Make Lavender Cookies

with icing

Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup of butter
1 cup of sugar
2.5 cups of flour
1 egg
1 tbs. of vanilla
1 tsp of baking soda
2 tbs. of fresh or dried lavender blooms
Saran Wrap
Cookie sheet

In a bowl, mix the sugar, flour, and baking soda. In another large bowl, cream the butter, vanilla, and egg. Slowly add the dry mixture. Finally add the lavender blooms. Split the dough into two batches. Roll out each and wrap in Saran Wrap. Refrigerate until firm. Slice the dough and place on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. When cool, they may be iced.

 

Icing

Ingredients:

1/4 cup butter
1/2 box powdered sugar
1/2 tsp of vanilla

On low, blend all three ingredients until smooth. Spread over cookies.
