Materials: Organza fabric remnant makes about 18 tea bags First cut the fabric. I chose fabric that had gold stripes built in. Then I cut through the center of the square, leaving gold for the top and bottom. (see image)
Fold fabric piece in half, wrong sides out. Cut extra fabric close to hem. Turn inside out. When you have all of your pouches made, place all of the filling ingredients in a bowl and mix them up. Spoon even amounts in each bag, pinning the tops to keep from spilling. Next cut strips of ribbon about 2.5 inches. Clip the center fabric pieces into squares. If you used solid colored organza, you can use a thicker ribbon in a matching color. Stitch the squares to the ends of the ribbons. It's supposed to look like the string on a tea bag.
You want to make sure that if this is a gift you include instructions so that people don't try to drink the tea. It won't hurt anyone, but it won't taste good either! I used a card created by my computer and printed on business card paper. The instructions are: Throw in tub, steep for 3-5 minutes. Toss the pouch in the garbage. Easy as tea!
