Apple Cake

4 cups apples, peeled and diced
2 cups sugar
3 cups self-rising flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup oil
3/4 cup chpped nuts

Preheat oven to 350.Br> Combine apples and sugar. Let stand for 1 hour. Mix flour,>br> cinnamon and nutmeg. In a separate bowl, beat egg. Add oil
and vanilla. Combine with dry ingredients. Add apples and
nuts. Bake in greased tube or flute pan for 1 hour.

Topping

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Mix brown sugar, margarine and milk. Boil for 5 minutes.
Add vanilla and spread on cake while warm.
