My name is Sandi aka MOM...all the kids at the Menagerie (the human ones) are
MINE!!
I have redheads, blondes, brunettes and the fellas too..not sure
about hair color. In my personal home life, I have a daughter, Leigh Ann, and a
son named Bob. I have converted her into a computer-aholic but not my son
yet. Both kids are grown and gone from home. I have two granddaughters in
Washington. I am married to a fella named Larry who works at a Truck Stop.
He drove the big rigs a while but did not like being away from home so much.
I work full time at a hospital as the Training Coordinator in the PBX section of the IS Department...aka a telephone operator. I train new hirees, do the
system administration data entry, answer calls and generally just boss the
others around. I subscribe to the theory that "Age and treachery will
overcome youth and skill".
My hobbies, besides the computer, are my pets, reading, and crochet. I
like reading mysteries, some fantasy, biographies and some political/historical.
I live in Oklahoma about 12 miles from the city of Ft. Smith, Arkansas,
a border town. Larry and I both work in Fort Smith. We live on approx.
a half acre and our neighbors have miniature horses, which we enjoy.
We have 11 Pekingese dogs and eleven to a zillion cats. All the
neighborhood cats eat here whether they have a home or not. At this
point, I have 13 cats that are kept confined and have been spayed or
neutered. My oldest doggie is Gizmo, a rescue who has gone to the Bridge now, and our youngest is Haley Jo, also a rescue. In between are also two rescues, Patches and PuppySue,who came to us from Florida. We met a friend in Biloxi, Mississippi to pick them up. We are fortunate in that none of our rescued dogs came from abuse...circumstances just forced previous owners to seek an alternate home for them...so they are not actually "rescues" as much as "adoptees.
Additionally I have a Cockatiel named Gabby and a Guinea Pig named Trudy.
I spend most of my at home time on the computer with CNN on the TV
and various dogs underfoot. My home website is Peke Avenue.
