About Us,
Dixie Mountain Rabbitry

We got started in rabbits in 2001 when my cat caught a wild rabbit. We saved it and let it go. I feel in love with the like bunny and asked for a bunny for 4-H (Since I already did poultry). That year for Christmas I got a little Chestnut Netherland Dwarf Doe and I showed her for the next year in 4-H. Sadly she died that year after Christmas. I got an otter buck and an otter doe to replace her for 4-H. I bred them and got my first litter in March 2003. When I saw those baby bunnies, I was hooked. I decided to raise Chestnut, Otter, Himalayan, and Siamese Sable for my project. I plan to have a small rabbitry and breed my bunnies for other people to get started in 4-H. I decided to get those colors as I loved how they looked, and a loy of good breeder raise them to get started with! I show and breed my rabbits all year long so if your interested in seeing rabbits, feel free to e-mail me. Thank you for visiting Dixie Mountain Rabbitry!!!
