My name is Tobias and at this very moment I was leading three girls- three very cute girls to their future. They were going to become Animorphs. They were also, in a sense, 5 years younger than we were. I was so incredibly confused. I liked Rachel. I knew that. But I also liked Michelle . Did I mention that I was confused? Both of them were cute, witty, smart? need I go on? Anyway , I had heard their entire conversation without them knowing. I had just found out that we had died without the world knowing about us. This was far too strange, probably even for Ax! We got to the barn and were bombarded with questions. ?Where have you been! We?ve been waiting!? Jake said in a tone that I had never heard him use before. ?We were making sure we knew our way around,? Carlin said. Every body looked at us impatiently, as if waiting for us to say something. ?Sorry,? Michelle said eventually. ?Whatever. Anyway, Jake, after we get our morphs, what is the game plan?? Katie asked. Jake looked at her and threw his hand onto his forehead. That?s all I remember because I had spaced out and had gone back to my thinking. The Ellimist had brought them here is what they had assumed. Because apparently we were destined to die and become suck in cat morphs. So Ax comes five years later and sends them back here. Why? To try to save us? But why them? Why not some other people, like boys or something? Why not- ?What do you think, Tobias?? <What? Think what?> I asked. I had been jolted out of my thinking. ?Morphs. For them,? Rachel said, pointing to the three new Animorphs. ?You know, I don?t really care,? Michelle added. ?How about lion, bear, and panther or something?? Cassie suggested. ?We could always use some variety and some more power.? <Sounds fine to me,> I said. Everyone nodded in agreement. ?So it?s settled. Now, we need to get you some bird morphs, um? fly, aquatic animal, and some more. We?ll add to the list as we go<? Jake said with pure authority. We searched and found the birds and flies in the barn. Katie got the peregrine falcon, Carlin got the osprey, and Michelle got the Cooper?s hawk. The trio tried their new morphs; it went pretty well. We all morphed (except me, but, you know, I was already in my bird morph) and headed for the gardens. First thing we did was demorph/morph to human and split up. Katie went with Cassie and Jake, Michelle went with Rachel and I, and Carlin went with Marco and Ax. Anyway, Rachel and I lead Michelle to the panther habitat. She slowly walked in, acquired the panther, and made a quick exit before the other panther realized that she was in there. We closed the door and went to get the dolphin morph. ?Okay, can anybody think of anything else we need for-? Rachel started but was cut off by the security guard. ?Hey! You kids! What are you doin in here!? This huge guy came running at us. ?Hold your ground. He might suspect us if we run,? Michelle whispered. We all stood there while the guy came running up. ?You! What are you doing in here?? He asked angrily. ?We- we were looking for Cassie. You know, Ms. ____?s daughter. She was? giving us a tour back here. The security guard stared at Michelle hard. ?Alright. I?ll help you find her,? he said. He took Rachel by the arm and started down towards the main office. We entered and he spoke into the microphone. ?Cassie ____, please come to the main office. Cassie ____ , please come to the main office,? he said. Then added, ?I?ve always wanted to do that.? Rachel rolled her eyes. ?What. A. Dope,? Michelle whispered to Rachel and me. Rachel giggled under her breath. Within minutes Cassie, Jake, and Katie were at the office. So were Ax, Marco, and Carlin. ?There you guys are! Jeez, we lost you at the aquarium! Didn?t you realize we weren?t behind you? I wanted to see the whole tour!? Michelle started and winked in Cassie?s direction. ?Oh? you did? We?re sorry, we didn?t realize it. Come on, let?s finish this tour,? she said in a stage voice and lead us all outside.
