"Painterly" (recycled criticism) I haven't heard that word since 1937, I mean since 1970, or 37 years ago. I was minus two in 1937, and that is really the best age to understand art.

This picture reminds me of one of those painters who we use as a road marker or milestone, but I can't associate a name with the style. It was a pleasure to read your comment on my not so favorite picture. Even made me like it better!

yayh, I can't associate if with any name either(this was just a throw-away failed experiment---speaking of nsf pix!!)...unless you're thinking Robert Rauschenberg, one of my idols, or his ilk....again, your nsf pix was a perfectly fine one...speaking of art & the unknowing,: I just quoted this on my blog: "Watch out for art, Crake used to say. As soon as they start doing art we're in trouble. Symbolic thinking in any kind would signal downfall, in Crake's view. Next they'd be inventing idols, and funerals, and graven goods, and the afterlife, and sin, ...and kings, and then slavery and war."

Better luck next time. Question is: when is the next time? I really want to get to an Indian flea market. I was able to pick up a couple of silver belt buckles, one with turquois(at the airport), and a plain silver one(Apache Junction Trading Post)for my hand tooled leather belts. More! I need More!! Stay well, play safe. And try to keep the plastic to a slow burn this holiday season. |
