Is the Bible the Word of God?

People often bandy about the phrase "the Bible is the Word of God", but do they stop to think about what it means?

In other words, GOD

Are you willing to accept this conclusion? That the Bible is God? I know I'm not.

How can paper and ink be the living God?

How can paper and ink have hung dying on a cross to save our souls?

How can paper and ink have been born on earth?

How can paper and ink have created the Universe?

Say rather that God did all this. That God created the heavens and the earth, and was born, and died and rose again that our sins might be forgiven. Not paper and ink, not a book, however good a book it is, that book cannot be the living God. A book is dead, once the last word is penned, it died.

The book was written by men . And, as we know all too well, men make mistakes. Men sin. Men are fallible. Its in our nature, our inheritance from our first parents. We are sinful, fallible beings, there is not one person except Jesus who has never made a mistake, never sinned. And yet we credit these men with the writing of God?

Bear in mind that scripture may be inspired and profitable without being perfect and infallible I could >i> inspire you to go write a book, but that does not mean I have written it for you, nor does it mean the book would be entirely as I would have written it.

The Bible never says it is the Word of God, in fact it says

"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God, and the Word was God ...and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us"

The Word was CHRIST, not the books the evangelists wrote. However much guided by the Spirit, we all make mistakes, does that mean God throws us away for one mistake? one sin? No. Neither should we throw away the Bible for one possible mistake within it.

My friends, be very careful you do not end up worshipping the Bible, it is not the Bible which teaches us, it is the parakletos the Spirit, the Bible is a guide, but it is not, and cannot compare with, God.

Is the Bible infallible?
