| Chapter 2: Songs of the ill-tempered heart Things settled down quite nicely after that. We only had to stop a few small altercations between Britney and George, and my friends only had to knock me unconscious once. I tend to get very political around our president. Must be the liberal in me. In any case, we had settled down on the large stairs to play a rather dynamic game of poker. Unfortunately, not many of us actually knew how to play poker, so it made a muffled transformation into Truth or Dare with Cards. A king and an Ace. I grinned, pulling the small pile of sticks we were using as chips toward me. Ha! That beats your three queens. I win. George, truth or dare? Truth. Oh Alright. My grin widened. Were there ever really any WMDs in My friends were all giving me warning glances, and Kelsey had taken off her shoe and was waving it threateningly. Oh- I pouted for a moment, but none of them showed she slightest signs of backing down. Oh- fine. Georgie-poo, Get on the rope swing and sing a love song to Kelsey here. I grinned at her. Payback time. That shoe hurts! But I picked truth The disgruntled president whined. I glared dangerously at him. Oh- Oh alright. Mmmmmm okay. Ahem. He swung out off the stairs. Oh KELSEY! HOW I ADORE YOUUUUUU! YOURE SO SEEEXY, WHEN YOU HIT KATIE WITH THAT SHOEEEEE! Kelsey moaned and put her hands over her ears in horror. No, no, no, noooooo KELSEY! YOU MAKE THE LOVE BURN UP INSIDE ME AND I HAVE TO TAKE SOME ALCA-SELTZY! At this point everyone except Kelsey and Britney were laughing uncontrollably, rolling around on the ground. Kelsey was still paralyzed in shock and horror, chanting to herself, and Britney was looking with disgust and hurt at the leader of our country. George leaped off the swing and concluded his song with a humming akin to the ending of a Pepsi soda commercial. He then bowed. I was laying in a small mud-puddle where my tears of mirth had mixed into the ground. The others were in a very similar predicament. Britney, however, stood up as George walked up to the group. The slap echoed through the woods and a large rodent flew from a tree in fear. All laughter had stopped by this point, and we were all staring at the two in wonder. Even Kelsey, whos ears were still blue from lack of blood flow. I thought you loved me! Britney howled at him, raising her hand again. You drive me Crazy! It was a dare He said in confusion, looking to us for support. We had begun to laugh again. Kelsey included. Oh baby, babyThe reason I breathe is you! Britney turned on her heel and began to walk away. you hit me baby one too many times! Britney! Wait! George staggered after her, following her re-interpretation of her own lyrics. Wel I began, and everyone turned to me, wiping the tears from their eyes. If those two every have kids, were all doomed. They all stared at me, and I shrugged. EW! |
