Being a musician is one of the best task or should I say ministries one could have in the church. You have the job of ushering in the spirit through music. A lot of people take this job as a joke and just play for money, or to say “ I play” or even to use it as a popularity contest, but this is in fact one of the ministries in the house of God. We as musician’s should take this job very serious and when we play, play to where God gets the glory. There are hundreds of thousands of musicians out there; one thing that sets one musician from the other is the anointing that you play with. I am a firm believer that souls could be saved, mountains moved, chains broken, all through the ministry of music (if you play with the anointing).
Another topic I would like to speak on is playing with the preacher and Alter call. Some times we as musicians can over power the preacher or take the focus off of him while playing for him. Try to keep the playing at a low, not too low, but enough for the man of God to get his message across without the Organ or Keyboard preaching people happy if you know what I mean. Alter call is a time for worship mode, play a soft melody unto God. Set the atmosphere for worship and watch God really move.
