Elemental Faeries

:::Earth Element:::

Earth faeries often live deep in the earth, in rocks, roots, hills, and barrows. Trees in deep, thickly wooded forests are often homes to the Wee Folk.  Gnomes are a perfect example of a faerie type creature that lives underground. Although gnomes arent exactly faeries. Some more examples are brownies, goblins, and pixies. These types of creatures often live in thickly wooded areas, deep in the forest.

:::Water Faeries:::

Water faeries can be found in lakes, rivers, pools, springs, wells, fountains, raindrops, teardrops, and at the ocena's edge. Nixies are an acient race of beautiful river faeries who dwell in the waters of England. They usually have white skin, very transparent, with long green hair. Water faeries are known to be rather treacherous. Some examples are the water wraith of Scotland, and the Welsh water leaper. Mermaids, mermen, and sirens are also considred as water faeries/creatures.

:::Fire Faeries:::

The aitvaras is a household faery that is sometimes seen in the shape of a flying dragon. He breathes yellow flame, and his tail is long and flaming. The Russian domovik is another fire faery who guards homes. He calls himself the Grandfather. When angered, he is known to burn down a house. Girru, the Babylonian god of metalworking represents the purifying aspects of fire as it burns away evil. Some names for fire faeries are salamanders, fire feys, fire drakes, dreakes, drachen, and draks. They travel through the air as fiery streaks. They are fabulous workers in farmyards, workshops, kennels, stables, and are known to bring wealth to their masters.

:::Wind Faeries:::

Many Air Faeries/Wind Faeries, have wings whose energies are quick, subtle, and fluid. Storms and winds are associated with air sprities. They control the smallest puff of wind in the afternoon to the violent hurricane at night. A bad wind faerie, is a Gremlin. They love despairing pilots everywhere. They are an unsual group of faeries, being that they like big loud, noisy machines. Other faeries, besides Gremlins, take the form of birds. They add the 5th faery element, moonlight.
