With Seafist spearguns you can turn that dream into reality. The heart is a single piece of quality Teak. If you start with good wood there is no need to laminate. The trigger is Riffe. I've tried simular ones that were not quite as good but I make the best gun on the market so go Riffe. The shaft by design is the same length as the gun. The power to shaft is maximised in several ways. The rubber is raised to near perfect alighnment with the shaft. A slight downward pressure from the rubber maintains contact with the rail. Minimsed shaft overhang means max power due to longer rubber stretch. Accuracy is increased by more complete shaft support while power is unleashed. I have a larger blue water gun and a smaller gun but 99% of the time grab my Standard Seafist. It tracks so much easier than mega guns and has the range and power to take large fish.
Aspects of Seafist are usually multi-purpose for example the handle. Most of the lead ballast is found here where it is easy to control not on the ends where it would slow down tracking speed. Also all voids are filled, even the gaps on top of the handel, to reduce noisy air bubbles. If you study a Seafist you will find it full of multi-purpose design.
