HEEL! - This is a class devoted to heel work. We will work on focus, getting into position, straight heeling, and the various components of the heel command. Components such as: automatic sit at heel, jot-outs, circle left/right, pivots, and call into heel will be worked on as well as the common problem of forging and/or lagging. This class focuses on formal heel work but will also incorporate some motivational training techniques. If you are planning on getting into competitive obedience or the sport of Rally-O, this may be the class for you!
Rally-O (Novice/Advanced) - Rally obedience goes beyond basic heeling by interspersing over 40 obedience moves with the sits, turns, and paces of traditional heeling. Rally-O also requires a brisk pace, positive attitude, and happy demeanor. There is no correction used in the sport of Rally-O so all dogs must be able to heel on/off leash. Make obedience fun and try a Rally class.
Tricks - Finally, a class that teaches novel behaviors to our pets. This class will enhance your dog's brain power and create a positive way to keep the FUN in training! This class completely utilizes motivational training so bring a lot of soft treats and toys. We will have a trick competition on the last day of class - may the biggest trickster win! Prizes TBA during class.
Second-hand pooch HELP! class - Rescue and Shelter dogs come with a variety of needs that other dogs do not have. Many dogs suffer from separation anxiety, dominance-related aggression, fear, and bonding problems. Dogs, and owners, will learn the life skills needed to prevent these problems from becoming unmanageable. Classes will include a mix of obedience, tricks, play, TTouch massage, and other bonding exercises.
