Chapter 9
"Oh God! He's here," Dani said checking her hair in the mirror in the hall. "I look like shit."

She was wearing a pair of jean shorts and a blue tank top. She hoped that they were not going someplace fancy, because she was not changing again.

After he rang the doorbell she counted to ten before opening the door. She didn't want to appear to eager.

"Hey," Wade said smiling. He was wearing khaki shorts and a grean button down shirt, he looked hot.

"Hey," Dani said grabbing her purse. She stepped out and shut and locked the door behind her.

Wade followed Dani down her walkway to his black corvette. Dani eyed the car appreciatively.

"Choreographers must make a good sum of money," Dani said getting in after opened the passanger side door.

"It was a gift from my parents," Wade said after he got in the driver's side.

Dani sat their silently until she noticed they were headed out on the highway. "Where exactly are we headed?"

"Well, I changed my mind," Wade said truthfully. "We are going to this waterpark Kevin told me about."

"A waterpark," Dani said sounding unsure. "I'm not exactly dressed for a water park."

"Yeah, but they have a gift shop there that sells suits," Wade said pulling on to an exit ramp.

"Ok," Dani said. She went back to staring out the windo unti lthey reached the park. It was packed for a tuesday. "Where's this gift shop?"

Wade locked the car and they both walked side by side to a little hut that was the gift shop. The suits were on the back wall and Dani knew immedietely which one she was going to buy. It was navy blue two piece. Simple but nice.

Wade picked out green swim trunks and he payed for both suits. Dani had protested but Wade ignored her.

"You go change and we'll meet by that bench." Wade knew he wold have to wait a bit for Dani. As it ended up, he only waited for a moment.

"Okay, what water slide do you want to go on first," Dani said looking around.

"Let's go on one that we need an inner tube," Wade said holding out his hand.

Dani smiled and placed her hand within his. Today would be interesting. Wade was impulsive whre Dani wasn't but she was finding out that she liked being impulsive.

*****

Sara turned on the tv in Brian's rec room and sat down on the couch. She smiled as Brian followed her with two cans of pop and a big bowl of popcorn.

"Why didn't we go out clubbing with Kayla and AJ?" Brian asked as he sat down beside her.

"Because it's Tuesday night," Sara said stuffing a handful of popcorn in her mouth.

"So, tomorrow will be Wednesday, who cares," Brian said confused.

"Tuesday night is Buffy night," Sara said after she swallowed.

"Don't tell me you're a fan of that show," Brian said suprised.

"Yeah I am, been watcing it since it started,' Sara said double checking that the channel was on UPN 9.

"Why?" Brian asked.

"Because it's an awesome show," Sara said shrugging her shouders. "Now shhh, it's starting."

Brian watched as Sara stared at the tv screen. It was funny to see her become so involved in the corny plot line.

"Her and Spike have got to get together," Sara said out loud.

"Who's Spike?" Brian asked turning to the tv screen. If Sara wanted him to watch the show with her, he would.

"That Billy Idol look alike," Sara said not even taking her eyes off the screen.

"The vampire," Brian said. "Why would a slayer get together with a vampire? Aren't they enemies?"

"No, Spike's good," Sara said as if that explained it. "And they've had sex two time already. Buffy's just afraid."

Brian nodded his head as if he understood, even though none of it made sense.

Soon Sara was yelling at the tv when something happened she didn't like. "No, Buffy! C'mon, Spick won't wait forever."

"You do know she can't hear you," Brian joked holding back a grin.

Sara barely spared him a glance. "Can you believe how stupid she is acting?"

Brian turned off the tv when the credits began to roll. "Yeah, I can. I wouldn't want to get involved with a vampire either."

"Not even if she was your true love," Sara said innocently. "Not even then," Brian said seriously.

Sara sighed. "Well at least next week we know they kiss."

"You mean this is an every week thing you do," Brian said with a grimace on his face.

Sara gave him a smile. "Yes, this and Friends."

Brian rolled his eys. "At least Friends makes sense."

Sara patted his knee before standing up. "I don't have to sit here and take this." She took one step before she was back on the couch and Brian was leaning over her.

"You're not going anywhere," he said a mischeavious look in his eyes.

Sara stared up into his blue eyes. He looked amazing in jeans and a t-shirt. He looked amazing in jeans and a t-shirt. He looked normal. Definitely not like a pop star. She loved looking at him but even more so when you got passed the Backstreet Boy image. And that scared her. Was she ready for a serious relationship?*****

Pat waited by the girl's bus. She had news and she didn't expect anybody to like it. The guys or girls. But Jive had given an order and when they gave an order you listened.

"Hey Pat," Dani said smiling. She had been doing a lot of that since her date with Wade.

"Hey, can you gather everybody up for a quick meeting," Pat said.

Dani smiled and started gathering people. Kayla and AJ were by the guys bus, Kevin was on the phone, Howie, Brian, and Sara were talking. Nick was laying down (he looked like shit), and Kristen was flirtig wit ha couple guys who worked with the crew. Wade was already with Pat when they got back.

"Why's this meeting so important?" Sara asked curiously.

"Well, first things first. You'll be shooting your video in one week and after taht...," Pat said stalling.

"Yeah," Kayla said her patience running thin.

"You'll be going back on tour," Pat said biting on her bottom lip.

"Okay," Dani said shrugging her shouders.

"With N'Sync," Pat said waiting for them to explode.

"What?" Kayla glared at her. "With those imitation freaks. They suck."

"Jive seems to think we need to get a bigger fan base and N'Sync carries a different fan base," Pat explained.

"That's because most of their fans are psychotic!" Kayla yelled. Sara hid a smile by ducking behind Brian. The truth was, she agree with Kayla. She enjoyed listening to their music once in awhile but having to be on tour with them would be going to far.

"How long?" Kristen asked looking nervous. She wasn't big on change.

"Um...two months," Pat said slowly.

"No fucking way," Kayla said shaking her head no. "I will not go." She stomped awy and AJ hurried after her.

"Great," Pat said. "I told them this wouldn't work. It would be so much easier if you hadn't gotten involved with the members of the Backstreet Boys."

Dani sighed. "I'll talk to them Pat. Well, her." She looked at Sara and Kristen. "How 'bout you two get on the bus nad I'll deal with getting Kayla on the bus. Carpe Diem needs to have a meeting."

Sara leaned over and gave Brian a kiss. "I'll tell ya everything later."

Kristen followed her, after she waved goodbye to the crew members. She didn't even glance Nick's way. It was like he didn't exist to her anymore.

Dani litterally dragged Kayla off the boy's bus and over to theirs. "Hey, you told us to grow up, take your own advice."

Kyala glared at Dani. She was right but that didn't mean she had to listen. Besides, she was right about it being bogus for them to go on N'Sync's tour.

Dani was the last to join them in the rec room. Sara and Kayla occupied one couch and Kristen was sprawled out on the floor.

"Dani, admit it, you don't want to go on N'Sync's tour anymore than I do," Kayla implied.

Dani sighed. "The truth Kayla, no I don't really want to go. But that doesn't mean I don't agree with Jive. It would be a big change. A humungus change. But Kayla, you also have to admit it would help Carpe Diem in the long run."

Kayla sighed. She should admit it. But something held her back. She didn't want to switch tours. AJ was here and well, the rest of the guys too. They were like a big disfunctional family. And if they left, it would change. All of it.
