Two Days Later

"Girls, TRL appearance Thursday," Patricia said going over their schedule while the girls listened carefully. "After that, we will prepare for the tour. We need to go over the dances and decide what songs we want to use."

"Definitely Same Old Story," Dani said nodding her head. It's our first hit and all the fans love it."

"Okay, Same Old Story is on the list," Pat said writing it down. "Any more favorites?"

"I wouldn't mind having Beautiful Goodbye on the list," Kayla said smiling slightly.

"kristen? Sara? Any favorites?"

"Yeah, I happen to like This Girl," Kristen said smiling.

"Okay, adding that one. Sara?" Pat asked smiling.

"Well, i"ve been working on a song. One that would be perfect for the group. Tim Westen has helped me with this one and it's good. Really good," Sara said hoping they would except this one.

"So it's not one that's on the cd," Pat said sounding unsure.

"You're correct but Pat, it's going to be a hit. I promise you," Sara said softly.

"Lets give the song a chance," Kayla said giving the other girls a look.

"I agree, Sara's songs are good," Kristen voiced her opinion.

"Okay, I want to hear it before we go to New York. So that means, you have 3 days to have the song memorized and recorded," Pat said seriously. "You don't have long."

They all stood up and said goodbye to Pat. They exited her room and Sara put a hand to her chest, She was so nervous. She truly knew the song was great and it was perfect for Carpe Diem. Now, she only had 3 days to prove it but she was up for the challenge. She lived for a good challenge.

"Sara how are we going to record this in 3 days. It's impossible!" Dani said pursing her lips.

"No, if we can get access to a recording room today, you coudl have the song memorized. The band has already recorded the background music. So, we can record the final cut by Wednesday," Sara explained.

"Does the song have a name?" Kayla asked curiously.

"I can't choose a name, so once you guys read it, we can title it together," Sara said entering the elevator.

"Now we need a recording room," Kristen said thoughtfully.

"I know someone but who knows if he is home and even if he is, who kows if he'll let us use it," Dani said quietly bringing everyones eyes on her.

"Who?" Sara and Kristen asked together.

"Jinx!" Kristen said smiling evilly. Sara glared at her and crossed her arms over her chest. "Tara, CAra, Fara..." Kristen went on.

"Sara! God act your age," Kayla said frustrated with both of them.

"Geeze," Sara siad, the last one out of the elevator. "What's you're problem?"

"Nothing, back to the earlier question, who?" Kayla said looking at Dani.

"Howie," she said shrugging her shoulders.

"Well, my cell phone is in my car. Lets go and give him a call. And pray he says yes 'cause if he doesn't, we're in trouble," Sara said making her way to her car.

Howie opened the door with a big smile on his face. "Hey girls, how have you been since I've last seen you?"

"I'm still exhausted but since the video shoot is over. I'm better," Sara said smiling.

"I'm great," Kayla said.

"And we're fine," Kristen said motioning to herself and Dana.

"Now, you said you needed a recording room for your use or something like that," Howie said making his way to his living room.

"Yeah, we need to learn a song by Wednesday. And you're the only person we could think of that had a recording room," Kayla explained from right behind him.

"Cool," Howie said opening a door and making his way to the basement.

"Crap!" Kayla said letting Dani and Sara past her so they could follow Kristen. Kayla hated basements. The dark, damp, moist area, where bugs and spiders lived. It was just scary and gross.

"Kayla! Come down here, it's so cool!" Kristen's voice echoed from the basement.

Kayla took a deep breath and slowly made her way down the stairs. She took a deep breath as she turned the corner so she was fully in the basement. But it wasn't like normal basements. It was a huge recording studio.

"Wow!" Kayla said suprised.

"Isn't it cool," Kristen said looking at all the buttons on the electronic board.

"Now, if you need to record a song in only 3 days, you better get to it. Sara do you have a tape of the music with you?" Howie asked taking charge.

"Yes," Sara said pulling it out of her bag.

Howie put it in a tape deck and pressed play soon there was guitar, keyboard, drums, and a saxaphone. They all listened to the music and tried to imagine the words Sara had written for it.

"I love it, now the only thing that could make it better would be words," Dani said making them laugh.

"You're in luck, I have them too," Sara said still chuckling.

"Now, Sara, since you know the words and everything; you go sing it for us," Howie siad sitting down so he could work the controls.

Sara entered the recording room and made her way to the microphone. The room was pretty basic, 5 microphones, a couple music stands, a big window so they all were looking in on her.

"Are you ready?" Howie's voice came through the speakers.

Sara put the headphones on and gave him a smile and a thumbs up. She closed her eyes and waited for her cue. She loved this song and when she began the first verse, you could tell.

Sara opened her eyes before continueing on to hte nest frain:

"OMG! I love it!" Dani said giving her a hug.

Sara laughed and turned only to get another hug by Kristen. "Enough hugs already!" SHe turned and that's when she noticed Brian and AJ but she felt a shock as Brian's eyes collided with hers.

"Nice song," Brian said giving her his gorgeous smile.

"Yeah girl! YOu are a great song writer!" AJ said picking her up. "Damn girl! YOu must way 10 lbs or something."

"Or something," Sara joked.

"Back to the song," Howie said interrupting AJ who was about to say something. "Sara, do you have an idea about which parts you want each person to sing."

"ACtually, I do," Sara said motioning the girls to surround her.

They guys watched well Sara issued parts and each girl took the part she was given and didn't complain.

"Well, lets try it. Kristen, you're singing the first verse, why not go give it a try?" Sara said her excitement shown in her bright blue eyes.

"Wait, is anybody else ungry first? 'Cause, I'm starved and yeah...so anyone?" AJ asked before Kristen went into the other room.

"I am," Sara and Brian said in unison. They both shot a glance at eachother before Brian asked, "Anybody else?"

AJ began taking orders for MCdonalds and he soon had a whole page. The afternoon went smoothly after that, with only one mishap. AJ forgot the two apple pies, but otherwise, they all had a blast.
