BUTTER TART SAUCEIngredients
Stir together sugar, cornstarch and salt in a medium saucepan. Stir in milk until smooth. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly. (The mixture may appear to separate, but keep at it, as it will come together when mixture comes to a boil and thickens) Remove from heat, stir in butter until melted, then vanilla. Serve warm, Makes about 1 cup. RUM & RAISIN SAUCE: Add � tsp rum extract and � cup raisins to warm sauce. |
