BAKED FUDGE DESSERT

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sifted cake-and-pastry flour
  • � cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • � tsp salt
  • � cup chopped nuts
  • � cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla

    SAUCE
  • 1 � cups hot water
  • � cup packed brown sugar
  • � cup cocoa powder
Preparation

In bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt; stir in nuts. Add milk, butter and vanilla; stir just until smooth. Scrape into greased 8 inch square glass baking dish.

Sauce:

In separate bowl, whisk together hot water, sugar and cocoa powder; pour over batter. Bake in center of 350o oven until cake springs back when lightly touched and sauce is bubbly, about 35 minutes. Serve warm.
