Shish Taouk (Gigi)
Ingredients
- 6 Boneless chicken breasts
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed (It helps to add some salt before crushing them)
- 1/4 cup olive oil (not to be picky, but extra virgin Italian or Lebanese is suggested.
- 1 lemon, squeezed
- 1-tablespoon paprika
- 1 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste (You would have to dissolve it with 6 ounces of hot water)
- 1 Cup yogurt (Natural 2% would do)
- 2 tablespoons sumac (Dark purple-red berries are sold dried or ground)
- 1 Teaspoon salt
- 2 Teaspoons black pepper
- 3 Teaspoons 7 Spices
Preparation
Cut chicken breasts into large pieces for placing in the oven, or small pieces for skewers to go on the BBQ.
Mix remaining ingredients together to make a marinade.
Add chicken to marinade, mix well and refrigerate preferably over night.
Thread chicken on skewers and grill or cook under a broiler.
