SMOKED OYSTER ROLL
Ingredients
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese at room temperature
- 1 Tbls. (15 ml) mayonnaise
- 1 Tbls. (15 ml) grated onion
- 1 tsp (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 clove garlic, pressed through a garlic press
- 1 can (3.75 oz, 106 g) smoked oysters, drained
and chopped
- 3 - 4 Tbls. (45 - 60 ml) chopped fresh chives
Preparation
Mix together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, grated onion,
Worcestershire sauce, and the pressed garlic. Spread this onto a
piece of aluminum foil forming a square of about 6 inches (15 cm) and
1/2 inch (1 cm) thick. Chill until firm, 2 to 3 hours. Spread the
chopped oysters over the cheese and roll up jelly roll fashion. Chill
for at least 4 hours or overnight. Roll in chopped chives to coat the
exterior prior to serving. Cut into slices and serve with crackers or
toast points. Serves 4 to 6.
