Pork with Orange-Hoisin sauce in Wonton Cups
Ingredients
Sauce
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 3 tbs. frozen orange juice concentrate [thawed]
- 2 green onions [minced]
- 1 tbs. chili- garlic sauce [I use a Thai one]
- 1 tsp grated orange peel
- Mix all ingredients in small bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Can be prepared up to 2 days ahead. Cover and refrigerate.
Filling
- 1 1/4 lbs. ground pork
- 3 large green onions [chopped]
- 3 large garlic cloves [finely chopped]
- 2 tbs. hoisin sauce
- 1 tbs. minced fresh ginger
- 1 tbs. soy sauce
- 1 tbs. sesame oil
- 1 1/2 tsp. grated orange peel
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 - 12oz. pkgs. wonton wrappers
- vegetable oil
Preparation
For filling mix first 10 ingredients in medium bowl.
Set oven to 475 and position rack in bottom third of oven.
Using a 2 3/4 inch round cookie cutter cut rounds from each wonton wrapper. Brush 1 side of each round with oil and gently press wontons oiled side down into mini muffin cups. Fill each one with a heaping tsp. of filling.
Bake until filling is cooked through about 15 minutes.
Serve with sauce.
