Is Al-Anon/Alateen a religious program?
Al-Anon/Alateen is not a religious program. Religion, outside organizaions, and counseling not discussed in the meetings.The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions do contain the word "God" as a universal term of a Higher Power. Al-Anon/Alateen does not require a opening or closing prayer be said.

Does Al-Anon provide adult supervision in an Alateen meeting?
Yes, Alateen is part of Al-Anon Family Groups. Al-Anon members sponsor Alateen groups sharing their experience,   strengh, and hope in Al-Anon. In order to be a registered             Alateen group, an active Al-Anon member must have agreed        to sponsor and attend each meeting.

If an Alateen meeting is in my school, what if staff members are required to attend?
If a staff member must be present because of school policy, the Alateen members are told that staff members are required by law to report certain types of information to the appropriate authority. It is essential for staff members to safeguard the anonymity and confidentiality of Alateen members.
