| builttospill.net the official site from the band, the message board is an excellent source of information if you can avoid being shit upon. builttospill.com the crap-tacular official warner bros site. essentially an ad for the live album. Built to Spill Live Chronology the most complete live history of the band, they've got set lists, openers, recording info. Erick's Built to Spill Page very nice fan page; some mp3s, photos, and lyrics www.BuilttoSpill.com a good fan page that hasn't been updated in a long time; some video clips, a great discography, lyrics, photos, and a letter from doug giving a history of the making of Perfect From Now On! Indie Pop Live six full shows from BtS on mp3! plenty of shows from other great indie bands as well. eternity a very flashy web site. not bad. Ultimate Alternative Guitar Tabs the best place to go for your BtS cover bands needs. Experience Music Project This site contains an wonderfully in-depth article on Doug & Phil's studio process. Under the Create section. The Built to Spill Mothership from Ink Blot Magazine comes this site with good reviews, bio, photos, etc. for a bunch of critics they really seem to love the band. Mark Prindle's Rock & Roll Review Site i don't know how many people you know that like both madonna and anal cunt, but this guy writes uncomfortably entertaining reviews for those two and a million in between. a guy by the name of SonicNeutron does some good bts reviews and i turn in some for mercury rev as well. Nude As the News great online indie magazine that focuses on reviews. check out their nude as the nineties list, remains my favorite best of the decade list. Pitchforkmedia another indie zine, at times they can be pretentious artsy fucks, but they do give exposure to a wide variety of underground groups. four new reviews and news updated daily are the reasons i go back pretty much every day. they shall not be forgiven, however for giving Zaireeka a 0.0 rating. |
| the following pages have nothing to do with built to spill per se, but they are bands i enjoy, and you therefore may also. Modest Mouse anybody who knows the spill has most likely discovered the mouse as well. i think of them as a bts-lite but some folks like them better. very good page with extensive discog and set lists from every show they've ever performed. Flaming Lips likewise, most spill fans probably already love the lips. go buy every album they've put out since 1990 if you haven't already. Mercury Rev the lips equally great sort-of sister band from new york. supposed to follow up deserter's songs this year! Velvet Underground the discog on this page is fucking nuts. i don't want to know how much time has been put into the damn thing. Captain Beefheart very extensive page on the guy everyone already knows (or should know). i wish they would put the rare music archive back up as its been down for over a year. The Butthole Surfers before they became surfers they were known as "freedom to lick fred astaire's asshole." seriously. Tortoise Post rock, jazz rock, neo-fusion, whatever. Neutral Milk Hotel My favorite group to come of Athens, GA. The Dismemberment Plan these guys and fugazi are the only two bands that make me care about punk anymore, though they've already expanded way beyond the limits of that genre. Mogwai its so much more fun to say shite than it is to say shit. i will be seeing these guys in a couple of months; anyone know of a good earplug brand? Grandaddy These guys might actually become popular pretty soon, in which case I will have to remove this link to preserve my indie cred. Gorky's Zygotic Mynci i have yet to discover the proper prunuciation of this band's name. regardless, its welsh for dimwit reproductive monkey, and if you're into elephant six stuff and/or super furry animals, these guys rock. The Polyphonic Spree the new project from the boys behind tripping daisy. that's project with a capital P. |
