One good use for NPCs is requesting information about people or things. You can ask the NPC a question followed by (request info on ___) and whoever knows the answer will message back the information either as the NPC or in a bubble ( ). If the person who knows the information isn't on, just have the NPC say something about getting back to you later or something, and their pilot will.
Pilot: (anyone can play a darkness character, but information about their agenda is piloted by Kyou and Momichi. Feel free to make up whatever spawns of the darkness you want...maybe a spawn has it's own agenda, who knows?)

Special Abilities: Varies- The Darkness as a whole is a collective entity made up of many smaller demonic apparitions. Each apparition has its own set of powers, but generally speaking most have the ability to transform and travel through shadows and create various forms out of their bodies.
Weapons/Accessories: Most Darkness creatures don't carry weapons, but some might.
Background/Personality: The Darkness is an evil force that has chosen to make Kamen its home. It consists of many small entities- all of which seem to have their own methods and mannerisms. The goals of the Darkness remain unclear.

Background/Personality: Elaine has worked as the night manager at Kamen Appato for several years. She's totally uninterested in her job, and rarely concerns herself with the comfort of the guests or the quality of her service. Anything other than reading her book or doing her nails, she considers to be a hassle.

Special Abilities: Able to mix a variety of drinks. Has information on the characters that have lived at Kamen for awhile. Can tell characters who's been going in and out of the lobby (he has a clear view).

Background/Personality: Steven has worked as the Kamen's bartender since the complex opened. He's an easy going guy who's heard a lot of stories and witnessed many things over the years. It's not hard to get him talking.

Special Abilities: Is almost always sitting on a bench in front of the Kamen greens. He likes to watch as people come and go, and often says strange enigmatic things pertaining to the future. Some people think he's crazy, while a few believe him to be something of a psychic. He normally knows about anything that's occurred on the Kamen greens.
Weapons/Accessories: None- gloves without fingers, and a crazy smell.
Background/Personality: No one knows when Finius first started hanging around on the bench outside of Kamen, but it seems as though he's always been there. He knows a lot more than most old men, and is quite jovial and good natured.

Special Abilities: A savvy business woman, always knows the latest news about things around Enshu City
Weapons/Accessories: none, but she does have a scary temper
Background/Personality: Bridget owns and operates Mayonaka no Raibu- one of the hottest nightclubs in Enshu. Because she's trying to stay ahead of the trends, she's always listening for hot new rumors floating around the town, and has lots of helpful information.

Special Abilities: Has extensive knowledge of Kamen's layout and history. Can provide information about recent occurrences in the complex.
Weapons/Accessories: Has several maps of the city around Kamen and a dayplanner.
Background/Personality: Sydney is not only the manager of Kamen- she is the owner. She founded the apartment complex, and oversaw its construction. She works the front desk during the day and is often bustling around in the office behind it. She's very work oriented and doesn't like to waste time.
