Hello. I have made some changes to the journal, specifically I have deleted the previous entries as I no longer feel it advantageous to myself to leave them up there
I got inducted into the Alpha Xi Eta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa this past friday. If any of you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, or think I'm talking about a fraternity or something, let me clarify. Phi Theta Kappa is the National Honor Society for 2 year institutions, and Alpha Xi Eta is my school's chapter of that Honor Society. For those of you not in the know, I currently attend St. John's River Community College, St. Augustine campus, where I maintain a 4.0 Grade Point Average. Being inducted into the Honor Society is a big thing for several reasons:
First, in order to be invited, you must have completed at least 12 credit hours, hold a 3.5 or higher GPA, and be in the top 10% of your class. In order to remain a member of the Honor Society you must maintain a 3.25 or better GPA.
Second, being in the Honor Society automatically enroll's you on the national deans list.
Third, members of the Honor Society recieve a special seal on their diplomas, and qualify for many scholarships.
Finally, being in the Honor Society gives you an opportunity to be a leader, as well as many opportunities to help your community with activities such as painting houses and organizing events.
