District Seven
News
Election results are in. Although we didn't do quite as well as we had hoped, we still are growing. Ben Powers received over 5400 votes, more than doubling the number received by our last candidate for US Senator. Ken Lucier did well also, earning over 3300 votes. Both helped the CPMN by increasing awareness. In fact, since the election has ended, we have been receiving more website hits and information requests than ever before. Things are looking bright for the party's future.
Ken Lucier of Moorhead and Ben Powers of Austin will be the candidates on the Minnesota ballot, running for congressman of District 7 and US Senator, respectively. Ken's website can be accessed here, and Ben's can be accessed here.
A meeting was held at the home of Rik Connelly recently. A number of topics were discussed, including party building and election participation. One of the decisions made was to divide the district geographically. Bill Dodge will be running the southern half of District 7, while Rik Connelly will be in charge of the northern half. This will improve the party-buliding process in what is one of the largest districts in Minnesota.
