Disney offers a few different types of passes for the theme parks.  This can be very confusing to people that have never been down there before. Now, you have two types of passes the Hopper Pass and the Length of Stay Pass.  These passes are offered in an allotment of days.  Depending how long you are down will depend on the type of pass you may want.  For a child rate the age bracket is 3 - 9 years old then for ages 10 and up you have another set of prices.  Unfortunately, if the child is over 10 years old they are considered an adult.
Below is a description of the different types of passes available.

LENGTH OF STAY

If you are staying at a Disney Resort, and you are staying more then five days you are eligible to purchase a Length of Stay Pass.  This pass is only offered to Disney Resort guests only. The Length of Stay pass offers you everything.  What this pass includes is unlimited admission to all four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM Studios, and the Animal Kingdom). The three Disney Water Parks (Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, and River Country), Discovery Island, and Pleasure Island.  Park hopping is the flexibility of going to more then one park per day.

This is the only pass that now includes the water parks and Pleasure Island for the length of your stay.
For the most current cost on the Length of Stay check with Disney Reservations.  This price will vary on the amount of days you are staying.

5, 6 and 7 - DAY HOPPER PASS

The 5, 6, and 7 day hopper pass offers you unlimited admission.  This is to all three of the Disney theme parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM Studios).  These passes use to include the water parks, and Pleasure Island.  Well now they dont include it for all the days of your stay. It now works by a plus feature. So if you plan on going to Pleasure Island every night on your five-night stay.  Well, you will not be able to.  This also includes all of your Disney transportation that links the parks.
