The reason I call this My Wendy is because the Wendy I met had never been spotted prior to or after I met her.

This is a very intersting story of how I met Wendy in a private room in the back of Walt Disney World's Town Hall in Main Street USA. My family and I had gone to Disney World over eight times prior (and my favorite character had always been Wendy), but we were never able to find her in the parks. On this vacation I was sick and it wasn't a lot of fun. I didn't feel like doing anything. We went to a character breakfast at the castle, but I couldn't eat. We met Peter Pan and asked him if her knew where Wendy was, because she sometimes appears at that breakfast. Peter Pan replied, "I went to her window this morning, but she wasn't there." We left the meal a little sad that we didn't find Wendy. We had never found her before, so this was no shock.

We ran into Jenny, a cast member who was waiting with Pluto outside the film shop on Main Street, and my Dad was telling her how we lost my brother's autograph book (one the Railroad that travels wround the Magic Kingdom). She replied, "Wait here about ten minues and I'll be right back." She and Pluto went inside and we waited. She returned with another autograph book signed by every character who was in the park backstage. The whole book was full! Both sides of the pages. We were all in aw. Then my Dad started talking to her about our Wendy quest troubles. I was unaware of this, because Pluto was busy playing with me and my brothers. She just told him to have my family meet her in two hours in the Town Hall.

When we arrived at the Town Hall two hours later the cast members were all saying, "...so this is the family." Then Jenny came out from behind the desk and told us to follow her. We followed her behind the counter, through a door, into a hallway, and through another door. And waiting behind the door was Wendy sitting in a small room with a couch. I was only 9 years old and extremely shy. I completely was speachless! She started talking to me and I was in such a state of shock I can't even remember what I said, but I do remember I was surprised.

Wendy asked me how my vacation was going and if I would like her to sign me autograph book. She was also saying things like how happy she was I came to see her (the Disney character stuff).

Then Wendy said the parade was starting on Main Street and she asked if we would like to watch. We all said yes, so Wendy led us to the parade. Hand in hand, Wendy led my brothers and I out of the Town Hall and out to the parade. (You can see Jenny by the door in the first image below.)

We stood there watching the parade while Wendy was telling us about the characters going by. It was so much fun.

Then Peter Pan came by... He jumped out of the parade to come and say hello to us and Wendy. He looked at us and said, "So you found her, heh?" This was also the same Peter Pan we saw at the character breakfast that morning. Then Peter asked us if we would like to dance in the parade. We all agreed and were then dancing in the parade with Peter and Wendy. Sorry, I have no pictures from that.

When the parade was over Peter Pan accompanied us back into the Town Hall. We went back behind the counter and they posed for some more pictures. You can see a little of what the room looked like in the first image below, it was very victorian like most of Main Street.

It was an experience I will never forget for the rest of my life and, by far, the most magical of our Disney vacations. I never would've imagined what I thought would be our worst vacation turned out to be our best. It's true that dreams come true at Disney.

Thank you Wendy and Peter Pan, especially Jenny!
