Hi all! Just wanted to give a quick recap on our trip and site inspection-promise not to make it too long! We stayed at Coronado Springs and really liked it! Our first night we went to Jelly Rolls and had a blast. We met up with Michelle and John at Ghiradelli's on Sunday-sorry we missed the rest of you-I think we stood by you but I saw wedding rings on some of the guys and I was in wedding mode so my dumb brain decided it probably wasn't our group-hello brain-vow renewal?!? We met with Lourdes on Monday and went to some of the reception sites-I think we're set on EPCOT-Italy for the ceremony and either the Isola or France (Bistro) for the reception. Lourdes was really nice! We played in the parks, I finally went on Splash Mountain-I was terrified but ended up LOVING that ride! Sat by the pool, all that fun vacation stuff. The worst thing on our trip was my decision to eat at Bongo's-we'll never go again and I absolutely do not recommend it! The service was HORRIBLE, it took her about 1o minutes to come back and take our order. I ordered some kind of chicken nugget things-McDonalds does better and Chris ordered a pork chop thing that was almost all fat. I asked for sauce for the dry chicken and after asking for a second time finally got it (Chris was done eating), the waitress never asked how anything was. It was just terrible-I'm planning on writing a letter-we don't and won't ever recommend it to anyone! On a good note we had an INCREDIBLE dinner at Flying Fish our last night there. On Wednesday (Feb 14) Chris surprised me with a little bear and card from him and our dogs, we kind of make fun of Valentine's Day but it was fun. We took the Behind the Scenes tour of Animal Kingdom-I HIGHLY recommend it! We appreciate AK much more now. There was a couple on the tour who had just gotten engaged on Monday so after the tour I was teasing Chris saying 'must be nice' and stuff like that, he was joking along with me. We spent more time at AK and then went back to the hotel to change-we had dinner rez for CA Grill. Chris asked if we could go to the Magic Kingdom so he could take some pics of the Castle before dinner, I said sure. We were hungry when we got to the park (we had about 2 hrs yet before dinner) so we went to Casey's and he gets these 2 big things of fries and these 2 gigantic drinks and I was like 'why did you get all of this food' (the story gets better, I promise). So then he says he wants some people to take our picture by the castle and I'm like can't we just have one of the main street guys take it and be done? He says no so we head towards tomorrowland and he has this guy take our picture. then we head up the path towards the castle and I'm trudging along thinking "Chris and his damn camera" I wasnt' in a bad mood, just annoyed with the camera thing. So we're going up the path and Chris says "Hey, there's some cast members up there, let's see if they'll take our picture" I said "Chris-they are working and the area (by the wishing well) is roped off" The one cast member says "it's ok, we'll take your picture, the event isn't starting for 45 minutes". So he takes my purse and my soda and I'm thinking can we cut the Disney service and get this over with. So we're standing there and I said are we going to take the picture? Chris says "Would this be better if I was asking you to marry me" And I'm thinking "Now how am I supposed to answer that-if I say yes then I look disappointed (he had me so convinced it wasn't going to happen on this trip)if I say no-well that's not an option" Next thing I know he is on his knee asking me to marry him!!!! Of course, I said yes! People were videotaping us and taking pictures. It was the best moment! I had seen the table with the glass slipper, chocolates, and roses out of the corner of my eye, but was so convinced we weren't getting engaged on the trip. IT's FINALLY OFFICIAL!!!! Well, we didn't really have reservations for CA Grill until the next night(he just wanted us dressed up), we ended up going and calling our parents and then going to EPCOT. Needless to say, it was a great trip! Chris is going to try to add a few pictures in the files here. We met with Damon Tucci on Thursday and were impressed! Danielle (Feb '02)
