| September 22, 1999. I was on vacation with my Mom and Dad, and a friend of mine from work and his family. The last day of our trip unfortunately came and I was the only one that had enough energy left to make it to Pleasure Island, so I went alone. So here I am walking around PI, enjoying the music and people watching when I notice a live band is playing at The Wildhorse Saloon. Now at that time, I didn't listen to much country music, but since I do enjoy live bands, I decided to go in. I was barely there 10 minutes when I noticed this beautiful woman across the room (Michaelene), who just happened to have noticed me too. We kept making constant eye contact with eachother, but neither of us had the nerve to go up to the other. Finally she sent her friend (Trish) over to ask me to dance and I accepted. While Trish and I danced, she told me that her friend Mic was intersted in meeting me but was too shy to come over to me. I told her that I was also interested in meeting her friend, so when the song was over she took me over to introduce us. We instantly hit it off and she asked if I was vacationing there, or if I was from the area. I told her that unfortunately I was on vacation, so we decided to go and get something to eat somewhere so we could get to know eachother better. We ended up staying there the rest of the night talking for hours. We made such a connection that first night. Since I had to leave for home the next day, we exchanged phone numbers and email, and promised to keep in touch. After 2 weeks of talking on the phone each night, we decided that she should come to Mississippi (where I am stationed) to visit me. She made plans to make a 6 day trip, and arrived on Oct 6th. The day before she was to leave, both of us decided that neither of us wanted her to leave, so she didn't. She decided to stay with me. We have been together ever since, and have since been married. Now, I have loved Disney World since I was 11 years old and went for the first time., Now I have yet another reason to love it. |
