Disney Tips and Tricks
Magic Kingdom - Fantasyland

1
.  Fantasyland - Directly behind the castle, is a drinking fountain with a statue of Cinderella in the center. She's dressed in her rags and sitting with some birds.  On the wall behind her is a painting with a crown in the center of it. When you're standing in front of the fountain the crown seems to hover about a foot over her head, but when you bend down to take a drink, if you look up at the statue, the crown is now sitting on top of her head.  Another way to see the crown on her head is to stand in front of the fountain and curtsey or bow to Cinderella.  The purpose of the fountain?  To explain the story of Cinderella in just one glance...from rags to riches!

2.  Tinkerbell - The Cast Members select one of the first children into Tinkerbell's Treasures store in the morning to help wake up Tinkerbell.  The child gets to sit on the counter behind the registers.  There's a big fake window back there with a jewelry box or something like that on the shelf.  The child is given a magic wand and instructed to tap the box lightly and command "Wake up Tinkerbell!" At this command the first twinkling sounds and lights can be seen and heard as the little pixie suddenly springs to life and flutters about the room on her way to go crash into the dresser by the back doors.

3.  Tinkerbell - You can see Tinkerbell in the dresser in the back of the Tinkerbell's Treasures store (by the door closest to Phiharmagic.)  Try to follow the twinkling lights and the tinkling sound of her bell as she scurries along the walls and the ceiling and then falls with a sudden jingle into the dresser. A small light will flash through the keyhole, and if you looked in at just the right time you could see Tink in there.

4.  Cinderella's Castle - Regardless of how it looks, the castle is not made of stone or bricks.  It is made of fiberglass with steel, concrete, cement and plaster to withstand a hurricane!  And, "No" the spires can not be removed!

5.  Cinderella's Castle - Look carefully at the mosaic tiles making up the faces of Cinderella's stepsisters in the interior mural. You'll see that the tiles are specially colored; one sister (the jealous one) has a red-tinged face while the other (the envious one) has a face that's slightly green!

6.  Cinderella's Castle - The coat of arms at the front and rear entrances to Cinderella's Castle is that of the Disney family.

7.  Cinderella's Castle - The castle is guarded by a giant sea serpent who lives in the canals around the castle!  What, you can't see him!  Ok, go to  the end of Main Street and take a right by the Ice Cream Parlor.  Look on the grass near the edge of the water.  You'll see the partially submerged sea serpent (he's made out of plants)!

8.  Cinderella's Castle - Sit on the stone ledge on the right side of the castle, you may hear Stitch giggle and tell you to be quiet because he's hiding.

9.  Cinderella's Royal Table - When you're waiting to be called, stand in front of the throne and look up to the right and you will see Gus and Jacques.  Also, if you have an autograph book, try asking the suit of armor for an autograph.

10.  Cinderella's Carousel - Make sure you look for Cinderella's horse.  It's the one with the golden ribbon on its tail.

11.  Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - Look at the wall in Owl's house to find a picture of Mr. Toad handing the Land Deed for the property over to Owl (this is a whimsical reference to Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, the popular attraction that stood on the site of the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh).

12.  Peter Pan Ride - Look closely (and quickly!) at the toy blocks on the floor in the nursery (they're to your right). One set spells out "Disney" and the other "PPan".

13.  Peter Pan Ride - The weather vane on the attraction building has Captain Hook's pirate ship on the top!

14.  It's a Small World - Some of the children in England are dressed  to look like dancing chess pieces!  Look to the left of the large clock tower!

15.  It's a Small World - In the white room there is a clown in a balloon holding a sign that says, "Help!"  Do you think it is because he has heard that song playing over and over and over again for 30 years?!
