| Anne Sweeney President, Disney Channel Worldwide and ABC Cable Networks Group What she does: She oversees Disney Channel, all Disney Channels worldwide, ABC Kids, The Wonderful World of Disney, all other programming shown under the Disney name on cable and network television, and all non-sports cable networks owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company, including Toon Disney, ABC Family and SoapNet. She oversees Disney's interests in cable networks it partially owns and operates, including A&E, The History Channel, Biography, History International, Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, E! Major accomplishments: Under her management Disney Channel successfully transformed from a premium cable channel into a basic cable network, increasing its subscriber base from 14 million homes in 1996 to 70 million in 2000. Toon Disney and SoapNet were launched under her management. She ranked 39th on Fortune magazine's list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in 2002. Her Disney career: She was named President of the Disney Channel and Executive Vice President of ABC/Disney Cable Networks in February 1996. In August 1998 she was named President of Disney Channel and Disney/ABC Cable Networks. She has been President of Disney Channel Worldwide and ABC Cable Networks Group since October 2000. Before Disney: She began as an intern with Action for Children's Television, an organization committed to improving the quality of children's television. She moved on to Nickelodeon/Nick At Nite, where she worked for twelve years and eventually became Senior Vice President of Program Enterprises. Among other responsibilities there, she was in charge of buying programs and casting performers for shows, and she helped launch Nickelodeon in the United Kingdom (UK). His Disney career: He started at the Disney Channel in 1988 as Executive Director of Programming, and became Vice President of Programming eight months later. Most recently he was the Director of Motion Pictures-For-Television at CBS. Before Disney: With her own production company, Treadwell Productions, she directed commercials and a documentary called Putting Our Hands To Other Labor, focusing on the womens' art movement in Southern California. She co-produced Ghost of Summer for the National Black Theatre Festival in 1995, produced the live-action segement of the AT&T Ride the Network sim ride film at Epcot in Walt Disney World, co-produced Oliver Goldstick's musical Dinah Was, for which she shared a nomination for an Ovation Award and the NAACP Award for Best Musical. She casted for several episodes of the second season of In Living Color. She began as a casting associate on the movie Living Large.
