GETTING THERE
DRIVING things to consider
If you decide to drive. You may want to become a member of CAA. Aside from the typical benefits of roadside assistance, lockout service etc. members may request complimentary TripTiks and destination travel info.  TripTiksThese include maps, detailed route mapping and driving directions, listings of points of interest and accomodations along the way.  You give them the specifics, ie. fastest route or scenic route, or info on any specific stops you would like to make along the way.
Always make sure you leave a copy of your travelling itinerary with someone at home as well as your License Plate ID and vehicle description.  In case of emergency, they will have an approximate idea of where you may be reached through State Police.
Distance - check to see just how far away you are from the World at Mapquest
Time - the amount of time you have available for your vacation may be a really big factor, if you have limited time, you may not want to spend part of it in a car
Cost (gas, lodging, meals, tolls) - these costs can really add up, before assuming it's more cost effective to drive, you may want to estimate these costs
Weather - depending on the time of year, weather may impact driving conditions
Drivers - the # of people available to drive will impact the amount of driving time in a day, which may also impact the amount of $ spent on accomodations
Passengers - the # of and age of your passengers may influence your decision, i.e. comfort, car sickness, children & babies (some travel welll, some don't)
