Tunde created this Underground RailRoad Mural with 5th grade students at Hertford Grammar School in Perquimans County, North Carolina. The students studied the history of the Quakers and Slaves in Perquimans County and discovered how the Quakers helped to free the Slaves.
The brightly colored mural depicts two Quakers standing near the Newbold White house at the river's edge, greeting two black slaves traveling the road to freedom. |
