DN as a Weekly Newsletter?
Hey all.  Kind of strange to be coming to you like this, but as you can see the DN is now a weekly newsletter.  Currently there will be 3 of us doing this beast.  As you can see we will be hitting most of the important topics.  From all big topics in the news to the PWF and WV Efed worlds.  This is going to be rusty for us at first.  Our goal is to give you something to read once a week when all your chat time seems bored as it can be.  We will have the same News Board set up for you complete with polls.  The polls that run each week will be on a variety of topics.  Not that it really matters in the broad scheme of things, but I think it will keep it interesting.  The goal isn't to pervert the fun of chat, nor make it as serious as it can be.  The other dingle bats have the tabloid.  We will have the news.  Somethings that we put into the Love Stinks Section may come out as mean and harsh.  That's the way it goes sometimes.  Our opinions will be free from bias and ass kissing.  As you know all 3 of us chat in LS 1 and LS 3.  I am hoping to get this into LS Rooms 1-7.  That is the core of regular yahoo chatters.  The main page here will be an editorials by Scar, Perseous and Myself.  What we decide to ramble on, only god knows.  I hope that we do an entertaining weekly newsletter for you.
The Capture of Saddam Hussein brought alot of hope and elation from our country, our troops and the Iraqi people.  An evil dictator and murderer of millions was found in a spider hole and brought into custody.  The tears of joy seen on CNN by the Iraqi people brought a sense of relief to the americans here at home.  A sign that perhaps our troops were going to have a chance at coming home to their families.  Keep in mind that a month ago President Bush stated that there was a plan in place for a rapid handover of power to the Iraqi people.  With Saddam Hussein in captivity this process can now hurdle forward.  Keep in mind that this doesn't mean an end to U.S. Soldier deaths and that there is still a chance that our troops will be in deployed over in Iraq for another year or more.  Back here at home the American people need to keep doing what they are doing.  Showing moral support for our fighting men and women.

Is the War on Terrorism Over Now?

Alot of hope was put into the capture of Saddam Hussein and the interrogation that is going on at this moment.  Leads that will take American Troops into Afghanistan with the hope to capture the most wanted Terrorist in the World.  Osama Bin-Laden.  Tapes and recordings of Bin-Laden still surface today.  Though no one is sure if these recordings are current or if they were made before the attacks on Afghanistan.  One thing is a given.  Osama Bin-Laden and the Al-Qaida are still a very big threat to our countries saftey.  Right now reports are that the Al-Qaida are training on Saudi soil.  Remember back during Desert Storm.  Saudi Arabi let the United States use their country and airbases as our launching point.  Now it seems that Saudi Arabia are supporting something that we are fighting hard to defeat.  Lastweek reports went out over the news programs that the Al-Qaida use temporary websites that are set up for a max of 20 minutes.  This allows the Al-Qaida that are world wide to log online and see what exactly is going on.  After the 20 minutes.  These sites are taken down and they disappear.  No law enforcement on the planet has been able to find any traces or tracks from these online websites.  This leads to a belief that the Al-Qaida are trained extensively in computers and the internet.  A little hacking organization.  Another vital threat to the United States.  Or country is ran on computers.  Computers get virus that can shut down power grids.  Take out commercial airline grids.  The terror alert here at home should never be taken lightly.

Walmart Computers and Office Max Virus Protection.

Recently at the huge weekend after Thanksgiving, Walmart started selling computers for 499 dollars.  These machines were good beginner machines that had most of what you needed in a computer today.  Right now the computers have risen back up to 699 dollars.  Still a good price for a starter computer.  My suggestion to this would for those of you that are still sitting on 10 year old upgraded computers is to go and invest in one of these computers.  After buying one of these computers I suggest a run across the street to Office Max.  Office Max offers a virus protection program that is top of the line.  If a virus gets through while this program is watching your computer, Office Max will pay for all repairs to your computer.  No this is not a joke.  This is a real program and a real business.  Go talk to them.  It's a great way to stay protected and know that they stand by their product that much.

Big Money Week at the Movies.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King came out this last Month.  Ticket sales for the opening weekend were astounding.  Everyone I know went to this show.  I myself have not gone to it yet. I am waiting for the dust to settle down. I read the trilogy as early teen.  I guess thats what makes me love these movies.  The attention to detail is astounding.  It is not very often that you find a movie that follows a book to a T.  One prime example would be "The Horse Whisperer".    In the book the main character, a cowboy from Montana. dies in the end.  A sad story that brought a tear to my eye.  When the movie came out I was excited.  If the movie was anywhere near what the book was about it would be a damn good movie.  It all started out just like the book.  I was caught up and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Then the end came.  I sat there blinking.  They did not kill off Robert Redford.  An ending that made me wonder why the change?  Why follow a book word for word and in the end change the ending.  I have put in an email to the Movies Site to ask them that question.  I guess Hollywood thinks that all the people that watch movies do not read the books.

Back on the Home Front.

I was watching the Green River Killers Sentencing on CNN.  The judge looked at Gary Leon Ridgeway and said. "As you spend the balance of your life in that tiny cell, surrounded only by your thoughts, please know the women you killed were not throwaways -- pieces of candy in a dish placed upon this planet for the sole purpose of satisfying the murderer's desires".  I sat there thinking what in the world goes through peoples minds that do this type of thing.  Grant I thought I wanted to just choke the crap out of someone before, but I never did it.  The consequence of having to either die by capital punishment or spend a life in prison just didn't appeal to me.  Gary Leon Ridgeway was sentenced to Life in Prison without the possibility of parole.  This is guy that murdered 48 women.  Keep in mind that this is a confrimed number.  There are other women that they couldn't link to him.  Or perhaps Ridgeway couldn't remember how many women he actually killed.  The judge did hit it right on the head in my eyes as he also stated, "While you could not face them as you took their lives, if you have a drop of emotion anywhere in your existence, you will face those women in your dreams and private thoughts of your grisly deeds. And, sir, if you have that drop of emotion, you will be haunted for the balance of your life."  Ridgeway cried and apologized for the hurt he caused.  WHAT THE HELL???? Apologize for the 48 families you caused grief to.  Apologize to the children, husbands, moms and dads for the ghastly things you did to these women before you murdered them and dumped out their bodies like an empty candy wrapper?  Forgive me here but this man has no right to apologize.  Justice isn't this man saying sorry.  Justice is this man dying for his crimes.  Not once, but 48 times.

Somedays Chat can be something that is fun and creative.  Other days it can be dormant.  While other days its full of hatred and anger.  We all have a view of what chat is about.  So we here at the DN have decided to take a look at our views of chat.  Scar and Perseous have both written their perceptions.
All right everyone I have been asked to give my
thoughts on chat.  Now most of you know lucky ole me
does not like to think and nor do I claim to be smart.
Well,  scary enough tis time for me to give my views
on such wonderful things of the chat world. I am not
gonna ramble so lets get this puppy movin and see
where it goes.  For starters I would like to say one
thing, that chat in and of itself is a very diverse
community much like I real lives.  Yeah I know we do
not like to think of this as real life and all that
other horse shit.  Well,  everyone of us no matter how
hard we try still enjoy it in our daily routine and it
does become a part of our real life.  Granted it is
not taken as serious as others take it but tell me how
many people you consider a friend here in chat.  I
know I got a few.  Hell I will even go as far to say
that I have probably met close to twenty chatters.
Yeah I know I have no life and never claimed to have
one either.  I just wanna say in my eyes, and who
knows where I am goin with this, that chat is just
about as real life as real life is.  Look at the
people who got married off the net as well as for an
instance me and choky met and are good friends.  He is
even my dj at my parties when I can have them.  Just
dont get him drunk.  Every one of us can sit here and
say that chat does not matter to us but I can honestly
say that to each and every person who comes here day
to day it does.  Maybe the assholes do not matter but
those we enjoy talkin to, they matter.  Now as far as
my other views on chat, well lets see where we can go
with this, did I mention I love to ramble.  Well I
just wanna point out that every one has to be after
everyone alot of times.  Yes I am guilty of this there
is a particular few people I wanna jump on but they
have not shown their faces.  However,  it does not go
beyond me and those individuals.  Most of you know I
get along with everyone and I try,  but I find it sad
that yes newbies can be an ass.  What I just find
rather annoyin is those newbies who are not bein asses
and get jumped on for no reason.  Have I been guilty
of it from time to time, yes.  I aint gonna bullshit
no one I aint no god, unless it has to do with me bein
in the bed with a woman.  Oh wait,  nuff of my wanna
be dreams.  But,  all in all I must say from my
expierences in chat I think no matter how much we try
not to we only kid ourselves when we say chat does not
matter.  Wether it be we enjoy the company of our
friends or the argumentive aspect of it we still love
it and it plays a major role in all our lives.  We all
crave a lil bit of attention where it is left out in
our daily normal lives so we come here and yes I do
crave my attention I am a fuckin aries so yeah.  Well
for now I think that is allI got I am not sure how
this sounds cause this is just one of your friendly
neighbor hood scar rants in a different aspect.  Feel
free to comment cause I am sure that somewhere I
either offended someone or who knows maybe got every
single person to orgasm from this.  Anywho you peeps
enjoy, thats my story for now.

Theron asked me to write a column for this first edition about what chat means to me. I hate him for it. I feel like I've already beaten this horse to a bloody pulp. I wish it was just a place I came to relax, have fun, and escape form the toils of 'real life,' but it isn't. My friends are here. Pathetic? Yes, but also true. I don't think I'm the only shut-in that lives life this way as there are several of you that are here almost as much as me, and I'm sure there are thousands, maybe even millions of people that live the same way in chat rooms all over the internet. I think sometimes I and maybe some of you forget that theres a big chat world in here, and our town is pretty damn small. So do I take chat too seriously? Definitely. Am I alone in that regard? Definitely not. I've seen many people allow the entire range of emotions to erupt from different events in chat. I know many of you think of me as a newbie reg cuz I've just been in Yahoo for 3 years, but I have been online since the early 80's. Yes I said the early 80's. My dad was one of the first people in America probably to have a home computer. I myself grew up doing high school projects on my Timex/Sinclair 1000 and 64k Atari 800. The Atari even had a modem, and Compuserve had an online service even back then that was a microcosm of the web and internet we know of today, complete with chat. So unless any of the rest of you can say you've been online for 20 years I suggest you take yer good old days of LS0 and stick em up yer ass, cuz I gotcha beat. It still hasnt added any length to my penis, I was pretty well hung when I was 15 too. But my point is I really have seen it all online. Fake deaths, real deaths, marriages, divorces, adultery, real life murders, ass kickings, rape, friends turned to enemies, enemies turned to friends, lies, truth, good, evil, and more porn than I care to remember. So there are times that I take it very seriously indeed. What I've learned from all of it is that it isn't really any different from the 'real world.' Ive lived in 6 different states and dozens of towns and neghborhoods in my life and other than the view and the weather things are pretty much the same all over. Chat is no different. So for me its a place where I live a significant amount of my life. Like I said my friends are here, as are most of my enemies. So when someone says for me to 'get a real life' I just chuckle slightly, as if they think it would be all that much different. One day I will go outside again to do something other than make a few bucks, get what I need from the store, and come home to chat. One day...
