| It was an
ordinay day. The family was seated together in the living room.
Suddenly the calmness of the family gathering was rudely interrupted
by several loud bangs on the front door, followed by a boom and
a crash as the door gave way. A group of unwelcome, armed "marauders"
had entered and were quickly overturning, searching, breaking,
ransacking, everything in sight. The family had no warning. After
a few minutes the invaders left. The house was a mess. The head
of the home realized too late that the front door, which now
badly needed to be reinforced or replaced, had failed to protect. Common scene? Yes. Gangs of armed marauders called "free radicals" are constantly battering at our bodies, seeking a means to enter and do damage. The 'door' that keeps the 'marauders' from doing their damage is a protein called glutathione (GSH). Without adequate levels of glutathione the body faces invasion by its enemies. This is called "oxidative stress". Glutathione (GSH) is the body's master antioxidanta special 'body guard' within every cell. Researchers are discovering that many diseases are directly related to low glutahione (GSH) levels. Glutathione (GSH) protects muscle cells from oxidation especially the heart. It detoxifies heavy metals like mercury and lead, harmful chemicals and common pain relievers like acetaminophen. GSH also helps to protect against environmental illness. Arteriosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, is the leading cause of heart disease and stroke. adequate levels of GSH help protect blood vessels from oxidative stress. It also helps to neutralize free radical calcium which protects the brain from Alzheimer's and helps to prevent osteoporosis. Improving GSH levels helps to protect us from Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and cancer (including damage to DNA). |
Adequate levels
of glutathione enhance the immune system's ability to fight against
viruses and bacteria. GSH also protects our eyes from damage
by helping to keep their integrity longer and by preventing cataracts. The pancreas produces many pro-oxidant "hot" enzymes needed for digestion. GSH is like a pair of 'hot mitts' protecting the pancreas from damage that may cause Diabetes or digestive problems. The complications of Diabetes are the most urgent cause for concern. The circulatory and immune systems are at great risk. Improving GSH levels should be a definate priority in treatment. Vitamins C and E, both powerful antioxidants, work with gluathione to recharge themselves. GSH is manufactured by the body naturally and cannot be obtained in our foods. Instead the necessary precursors must be eaten. Unfortunately, it is difficult to obtain these in our diets. The increase of free radical attack and virulence in our bodies has led to rapid depletion of gluathione. The good news is that researchers have discovered an all natural food supplement (whey protein concentrate) HMS 90TM (called ImmunocalTM in the United States) which has been clinically proven to elevate glutathione levels in the body. HMS 90TM has 'method of use' patents that prove its effectiveness. It is prescribed by doctors for a variety of illnesses and is an over-the-counter, product listed in the Physician's Desk Reference (PDR) (2000 Edition) and The Pharmacist's Red Book (in the United States). Not all damage is repairable, for example advanced cataracts or scars. However, further damage can be prevented and some improvement made. There are NO quick cures, but there is a way to secure the door. Secure the door now! |
