The covert.stealth skills are used when using the 'sneak' command and determine wheather or not someone can see you entering or exiting a room if you are sneaking. On the other hand, the co.hi.pe skill determines if someone can see you if they enter a room in which you are hidden. If you sneak into a room, you are automatically hidden.
