| Brief Background: |
| Discovery Hills is a nature theme park currently supported by Environmental Initiatives Program of Accord Cebu Environmentalists, Incorporated, a non-profit, non-stock corporation duly registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission. Originally conceived to provide haven for hikers and scouts, the place eventually mushroomed into a butterfly garden and insect museum, then eventually to a site that it is now. It is getting to be a place for tourist who want to be cut off from the urban atmosphere. Aside from its being an educational and informational place, Discovery Hills is also perfect for retreats, seminars, outings, hikings, campings, and fieldtrips. Electricity is available thus some electrical appliances such as refrigerator, karaoke, and electric lights are available for the visitors to use. Water is available from a nearby spring and is processed in a reverse osmosis to make it safe for visitors. Food and other canned drinks are also sold. Camping tents and sleeping bags are available for guests who want to stay in-doors during the night. In addition, some cottages are made to suit the guests needs like the theme center, ampitheater, activity center and the gameroom. Also ropebridges are available for students who like exciting games. Toilets and Baths are also available in the area. |

| Where collection of different indigenous insects as well as butterflies are expertly mounted for the viewers. |
| Butterfly Garden Cage |
| A caged butterfly garden where different species of live butterflies, hovering freely for visitors to see. In addition, different species of food plants for the butterflies can also be found. The butterfly garden is not only for aesthetic purposes but for educational as well. In the garden, students as well as enthusiasts would learn the metamorphosis of the butterfly and how they play an important part in our ecological balance. |
| The Forest King |
| A project based on the book Are You The Forest King? by Penny Reyes-Velasco. An environmental awareness story about a boy who walked through the forest and started asking all the creatures if they are the forest king. Although in its very early stage, 10 creatures are being represented by 10 stations. These creatures namely: mushroom, beetle, frog, snake, eagle, young tree, man, seed, tree stump and the hand are being represented by exhibits. What are they, and how they play an important role in the environment. These stations are being developed by volunteers. |
